RecommendA "Dicing for Discounts™" Auction!!!
Auction closes on or after: October 28, 2018 at 11:00pm ET.
Due to illness I will not be closing the auction tonight. I will begin closing them tomorrow and all items are still open until marked closed. Thanks!
Shipping will be via USPS.
Shipping to USA Only... I will consider other countries on a case-by-case, user-by-user basis.
Buyer pays shipping.
I will of course combine shipping for multiple wins.
NO Local pickup
The opening bid is firm.
As per standard auction rules, this is a no-reserve auction. As everyone knows, an opening bid is NOT a reserve, it is simply the minimum to start bidding and show reasonable interest. Provided the opening bid is met, there is no reserve price that has to be met to sell the item. It will be sold for the final bid price (less any discounts)
If an item has not received bids, I reserve the right to pull the item from the auction.
All bids are in whole US Dollars only.(USD)
Bid increments of at least $1.00 from the previous bid.
A valid bid is one that exceeds the previous bid by the bid increment stated AND is greater than or equal to the opening bid.
NO CONTINGENCY BIDS ALLOWED. If you place a bid that hinges on winning another item or other factors, that bid will NOT be considered valid. These bids only serve to dissuade other bidders and nullify previous bids.
NO RETRACTIONS OF BIDS WITHOUT APPROVAL.
All sales will go through the BGG Marketplace so they get their much deserved 3%.
Paypal only please. You MUST pay this correctly as "Payment for Goods". DO NOT send funds marked as a "GIFT" as this cheats Paypal of their due fees. You wouldn't cheat BGG, don't cheat Paypal.
I will post the item to the BGG Marketplace once the item is closed. If you're buying more than one item, you may add each item to your cart as a single order and I will add the combined shipping.
Each item will be listed separately in the marketplace. Combined entries skew the historical data for sales for the items.
Payment is expected within 24 hours of a confirmed order.
Timeframe and Listing Closure
Auction will end on or after the time stated above. I've got nothing against last minute bidding as that is a fair practice in online, long-running auctions. I just don't know for sure I'm going to be around at the exact time stated.
Times are expressed as USA Eastern Timezone.
I will close each listing with a CLOSED message after the item's deadline and at least an hour has passed since the final bid.
If the Item itself is not yet marked CLOSED, bids are still valid.
"Subscribe" to any item you're interested in to make sure you get notified of new bids.
Condition of Games
My home is smoke-free.
The items all are smoke free, even if I got them second hand.- unless otherwise noted.
Boxes are in decent-to-excellent condition unless otherwise noted. Shelfwear is to be expected as well as minor dings (mostly as received). If box condition matters to you ASK and I will give it a close inspection and photo as needed.
Any other questions feel free to ask.
* DICING FOR DISCOUNTS *
HOW IT WORKS
In an effort to encourage early bidding I am using my system I call "Dicing for Discounts". How it works is quite simple.
When the auction for each item is over, I will take the time stamp that I mark it closed and subtract the time stamp for the winning bidder's FIRST valid bid on the item. This is not necessarily the winning bid, but the first time they make a valid bid. Rounding this (up or down) to the nearest whole number will give a number of days that they were "in" on the auction. This number of days PLUS ONE will be the number of d10 dice I will roll (on BGG's public rolls function) to determine the winner's discount on that item.
The discount will be the HIGHEST die roll generated and will be that percentage off the final winning bid. To further protect early bidders, the percentage will never be LESS than the number of days the first bid was placed.
Example: An item closes at 11:33am on July 9, 2018. Suzy's first bid on the item was at 3:19pm on July 4, 2018. This was 4.84 days prior to the end. This rounds to 5 days, so with one day added (so last minute bidders will get at least one die roll), I roll SIX total d10 for her discount.
These come up as: 4 3 9 10 2 7
In this case, Suzy would get a 10% discount on this item.
Had the dice been: 4 3 2 1 4 4
Suzy would have received a 5% discount because her first bid on the item was five days before the auction ended and she's guaranteed at least that much of a discount.
As a bonus, if the die roll results in multiple 10 rolls, an extra 2% is added for each 10 above the first.
So had the roll for Suzy been: 4 3 10 10 2 10
She'd have a 14% discount (10+2+2) off this item!
Each item's bids and discounts will be considered separately.
Discounts apply to the item cost only... NOT shipping.
All die rolls will be performed by me using the BGG die roll generator. Other die rolls do not apply.
This is meant to be a fun activity.
A post bid discount will most likely reduce the amount paid below what someone else bid. That's to be expected.
Any other questions feel free to ask.
