White Duck 2018

General Rulz:
This is a private gift exchange for the contributing members of the AAC guild. Generally, this means you need to be involved in the guild for more than just the white duck. If you are not sure if you qualify, send a geekmail to Dave, Jason, and I (if you don't know Dave and Jason's user ids, you might as well not even send the geekmail).
Gifts should have a value of $40 or more. Judgements / disputes will be handled by Dave, Jason, and I.
There is no maximum gift value.
Don't be a dick with the gifting. You can be a dick to annoy people for fun, but not when giving or receiving. This may be called a white duck/elephant, but the goal is give away good games to other guildies, and maybe get something new to you / cool in return.
No whining
Dave, Jason and I are the final judge and jury for all disputes

How to Enter:
Pick a game or games you want to give to someone from your collection, or offer to buy someone a game / etc..
Add an entry describing your offer or game to the geeklist. Description should include the item, it's condition, who will pay for shipping, etc..
Thumbs on this geeklist mean you think this is a good entry and would be willing to take it.
Your entry needs a minimum of N thumbs from people in the white duck for your entry to be accepted. N is approximately the number of entries / 10, minimum 3. The requirement that the people thumbing your post be in the white duck/elephant will be waived for the first entrants. The Ty Rule: Your own thumb for your entry does not count and you will be mocked mercilessly for this self-aggrandizement.
You may enter one or two times. You may add more than two games to the list (if you are worried that some may not make the N thumb requirement) -- but only your top 2 thumbed entries will be part of the exchange.
I would think wargames would predominate, but an entry does not need to be a wargame.

Timeline:
Geeklist opens 10/31/18 (we will start posting games and voting on them with thumbs)
Geeklist closes 11/10/18 (the games for the white duck will be finalized)
Selection begins 11/11/18 (the insanity of the selection begins!!)

Selection Process
A list of all the entrants/number of entries/bonuses will be posted in the AAC guild
I will generate a public random die roll on BGG -- the number will determine who gets to pick
The lucky winner gets to pick a game.. that game is removed from the pile. You will have 24 hrs to pick -- miss this window and we pick another name!
If there are games you initially gave a thumb left in the pile, you must pick one of them.
I will draw another name
The lucky winner gets to pick a game from the remaining pile.. that game is removed from the pile.
Repeat until everyone has gotten all their picks
There will be consolation prizes for the last 4 people to pick, since there is a disadvantage to going last. The "last 4 to pick" will be determined by the highest average pick position (as some people may have 2 games in the draw).
You will get as many games / entries as you put in, but there is a chance you may get more chits in pull from bonuses. Once you have gotten your entries, all your chits are removed from the pool.
Winners will coordinate with the submitter to get your game or games.

Second Game Pick Rules
Everyone gets to pick once before anyone gets a second pick
If you have 2 games in the WD, and you win your first pick, you will be removed from the draw until everyone has picked once. When everyone has picked once, all the 2nd game pick folks will be added back into the draw.
If you have 2 games in the draw and bonus chits: For the 2nd game draw, you lose all the bonus chits from your highest bonus producing game.

Bonuses
Your entry is the top thumb getter on the list -- 5 extra chits
Your entry is the 2nd thumb getter on the list -- 3 extra chits
Your entry is the 3rd thumb getter on the list -- 2 extra chits
Your entry is the 4th-6th thumb getter on the list -- 1 extra chit
An entry of yours is one of the first 3 selected -- 3 extra chits

Thumb bonus / penalties (you gotta give love to get love, my friends)
Top thumber: 2 extra chits
Second - 4th top thumbers: 1 extra chit
Giving 1-3 thumbs: -1 chit (penalties cannot take away the 1 chit / game, just bonuses)
Giving 0 thumbs: -2 chits (penalties cannot take away the 1 chit / game, just bonuses)

THE NUMBER OF THE DUCK(D66) BUNDLE
There are certain games that use the "D66" die system, where 1 die is the first digit, and the other die is the 2nd digit. I decided I wanted A 6 sided with 10,20,30,40,50,60 on the sides just like the percentile dice for D10s. Well, I could not find them anywhere. So I enlisted a band of crazy guildies and we put in a custom Chessex order for just such dice.

If you thumb this entry, you have the chance to get:
3 Sets of Custom Made D66 Dice, in 3 different colors

But wait.. there's more.
One of those systems that uses D66 is La Bataille. So this package includes a minty fresh copy of La Bataille de la Moscowa (third edition):

ANND we are not done. Because 1 game is not nearly enough...

I am throwing in La Bataille de Dresde:

Edit: I forgot to mention that I will also include a comb bound, color print out of the the Regs (guild approved La Bataille rules), the game specific rules/scenarios for the Regs (also comb bound -- color printed if there is any color), and laminated player aid sheets for the Regs.

So, that's a lot of Napoleonic Goodness. BUT. WAIT. THERE IS MORE!

There's another game that uses a D66. And that's Sherco's Grand Slam Baseball Game:

I will buy you your own PnP copy of Sherco Baseball (PLUS Variant) from the ASG games site, and I will build it for you. Not only that, but I will create a set of my custom Sherco cards for up to 4 teams in my database from 1870-2017. I will also provide with electronic Sherco player stats for any 4 complete years you wish. I will also give you a copy of my Sherco VASSAL module, and teach you to play online, if you want.

Here is what my sexy Sherco cards look like:

I will print them on fucking linen and sleeve them for you.

Shipping: I will pay for the first $30 shipping anywhere.

Note: You may have to wait a little for this bundle to ship to you, as the D66 dice take 10 weeks and probably will not be ready until December. Also, I will need to make your game and cards.

I offer up the Advanced Theater series from Decision Games.

Advanced European Theater of Operations with the East African Expansion. Main game is punched and bagged, the expansion looks unpunched. Also includes Advanced Pacific Theater of Operations, unpunched, basically like new. I'll cover shipping world wide in the spirit of the holidays. I may include a topless photo of Paul along with the collection. You'll have to thumb to find out.

I will keep it simple, with a twist.

I will buy your choice of game(s) from your vendor of choice, up to $150.00US (including postage). Here is the catch; any amount less than that $150.00US the winner does not spend i will double (maximum additional amount is $50.00US) and that money will go to a charity of your choice.

For clarity: this prize maxes out at $200US.

Bonus: prize also redemable for approved single malts.

I won this from Salindude in the last White Duck who requested that this be put up on every White Duck so Guildies get to play a pretty rare game. Well, here it is for you Jackasses. It's great fun and makes a great narrative.

I've added a laminated cheat-sheet from BGG that definitely helps with play.

It's a big box and shipping will be a beast so will probably have ask for some help.

I won this guildie home made masterpiece in the last White Duck and it has tragically sat idle since. Jesse did an amazing job with this set and it needs to see a table. Time to get this choo choo to a good home. See the link as I had a whole bottle of wine tonight and trying to recreate this post is beyond my current capacity.

Another large acquisition that has not gotten the love it should. It was perfect the buy for my former local gaming partner and BFF, but after some... domestic issues I won't be gaming with him anymore. I'm going to let this go. Shipping it will be kind of cathartic. Includes...

World at War: Eisenbach Gap
World at War: Blood and Bridges
World at War: Operation Garbo
World at War: Death of the 1st Panzer
World at War: The Untold Stories
World at War: Battles within Battles
World at War: Gamer's Guide
World at War Compendium

All are punched, clipped (OL 2mm), and sorted into at mega-shit-ton of Plano (included).

I'll cover shipping to the the US of A. International guildies if you want it I'll cover the first $25 again but it's going to be pretty penny.

Pacific War Action! This is a 2nd Edition copy that I haven't punched yet. (The Allied Cards are out of shrink wrap but the Japanese are still in shrink). I mainly play via VASSAL and a friend of mine already has a copy for face to face gaming so I haven't had a reason to break this one.

I know, I know, this game is hard to learn, a bit long, etc. If only there were a smaller version you could cut your teeth on before trying the whole enchilada...

Say no more...

South Pacific: Breaking the Bismarck Barrier 1942-1943

From C3i #30. I am adding just the game but it's unpunched as well AND I am including a Custom Box! Yeppers! This has to move the needle! Right? RIGHT?

From C3i #31 You also get the Terrain Map Chart that they forgot to add in C3i #30 and I will throw in the updated 13-1 South HQ, which means your EotS copy will be fully up to 3rd Edition Spec.

I will cover North America Shipping. For overseas I'll cover the first $35 CAD.

So much Pacific War Goodness. You know you want it, go ahead... thumb it...

Yes, the solitaire game where you're forced to switch sides and play against yourself. Punched and ready to cause dissociative identity disorder.

Also included as solitaire sweeteners: Long Range Desert Group: Special Operations Against Rommel 1941-1942 (punched) and Ceres: Operation Stolen Base (unpunched).

I'll throw in a copy of Four Against Darkness also. (If you already own 4AD, I'll hook you up with Four Against Darkness: Four Against the Abyss or something comparable from the supplements.)

UPDATE

It looks like Ceres: Operation Stolen Base is, in fact, punched. As compensation for this failure of the punchedness verification system, I'm also including an unpunched (yes, actually unpunched) copy of Indochine 1952: Opération "Bruno". Because I know there's someone out there who's itching to play a solitaire game about French paratroopers in Vietnam. This is a Vae Victis joint, and I'll include the magazine if you want it. I do have rules in English and the counters are mounted and die-cut.

Free shipping worldwide.

Boys and girls, this ain’t no mass produced game it’s a one of a kind, lovingly crafted version made from maple, leather, paint, blood, sweat and tears. I did this once and I may never do it again. It comes in its own leather bag that doubles as a grab bag for the large sized maple tiles. A secondary bag holds all the game chits (painted in the old school colors with vintage SPI iconography). I’ll ship this anywhere to a deserving winner. You aren’t deserving if you don’t get the thumbs and you aren’t a loyal guild member. Got questions? Ask and thy will be answered. Here are some photos to give you an idea of the meticulous craftsmanship involved.

Edit- I’ve also got laminated spell cards for the game. Also a color print out of the rules. You can use your own dice.

Okay, so it seems like a lot of people in the guild already have Combat Commander and its various appendages. So I'm retooling this White Duck offering to try and boost the thumbage by offering some choice...

NOW, you can CHOOSE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:

The Combat Commander bundle:

Combat Commander; Combat Commander Mediterranean, Combat Commander Resistance and The Fall of the West expansion.

Lovingly used!
Counters delicately rounded!
Handcrafted tuckboxes!
Cards sleeved for your protection!

OR

Last Chance for Victory.

This copy is punched, clipped (with a 2mm OL rounder) and sorted. Also, the map errata has been fixed.

AND

You can still choose one of the following with either of the above choices:

Reminder, Peloponnesian War has stop signs for counters, and Here I Stand is first edition, with mounted board. Choose wisely.

SHIPPING We'll cover the first $30 anywhere! The Combat Commander bundle will be a pretty large box.

I'll make this entry nicer once I'm not handicapped by this stupid cast anymore. Right now, this shall be sufficient.

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. Dear thumbing guild brother, will you marry me?
Perhaps not. Come to think of it, I am already married anyway. However, you'll receive...

Something old.
One copy of The Civil War, unwrapped but unpunched.

Something new.
Let's keep the timeframe - one copy of Pax Porfiriana. This the initial cube box edition which was never shrinkwrapped, but the cards are still sealed. This is my second copy of one of my most beloved games which I kept for bad times, but I suppose it shall rather be played.

Something borrowed.
I probably shouldn't gift something I'd borrowed, should I?

Something blue.
I'll find some German candy wrapped in blue to sweeten this deal.

I'll cover worldwide shipping as long as it doesn't get too outrageous.

German guildies! After being publicly shamed by one of you for abandoning our game of Labyrinth, I felt obligated to throw something on the list for you.

Do you want to wargame but feel kind of awkward about the whole "world wars were sort of our fault" thing? What about a more culturally acceptable time of Prussian glory? When men were men and put fucking mustard in their coffee? When your monarchs are great but their official portraits look kind of insane?

I picked up a couple of BAR games but I've got TOO MANY SYSTEMS now, so my loss is your gain! I've got 2 BAR games to throw in:

Leuthen: Frederick's Greatest Victory: UNPUNCHED
The Battles of Mollwitz 1741 and Chotusitz 1742: IN SHRINK

PLUS

At Any Cost: Metz 1870: IN SHRINK
Rise and Decline of the Third Reich: I DON'T REMEMBER

Ok, the last one is solidly in bad guy Germans territory. I won't write anything on the customs form to give it away.

Free shipping anywhere, worldwide.

This item includes:

Ambush!
Ambush! Move Out!
Ambush! Purple Heart
Ambush! Silver Star
Ambush! Custom Card Upgrade

All four of these games have typical shelve-wear for something manufactured 30+ years ago. All components are present (as best I could tell). Value from www.spielboy.com estimates these games between $150 and $200.

Shipping: I will pay for the first $30 shipping anywhere.

My thumbs....they are so few. I have thumb FOMO right now and need to fix this shit.

So this is Dave's very own copy from a previous WD! It is like owning a piece of WD history.

But wait, there's more.

Ok this copy has some issues. Age for one, a bit of beat up corners. And it is missing one counter. ONE. A British airborne unit, one of these creative cats on here will probably make you one, or maybe you are one of said cats and can knock that out like its nothing.

And yet more?!

yes, it is a jacked up copy of Fifth Corps. How you say? Well someone took a crayon to all the unpunched counters. Weird. Just pretend it is face paint.

Oh and the first $40 in shipping is covered.

The FOMO, she calls to me. I cannot resist her siren song. This copy is pretty good. It has a photocopy of one of the rules. Should be complete for your solo fun.

You may want more, because you always do, don't you?

Well here you go.

Punched and ready to play, enjoy.

Since you are playing by yourself, you probably need a movie. No, not that kind, get one of those on your own time. No, you get this on Blu-Ray

Note, this was going to be a copy of BAOR, but I can't find it.

Oh and the first $40 in shipping is covered.
