The Essen 2019 no-shipping auction list. Post your own items for sale!
Here we go.
Happy selling/bidding to everybody.
This geeklist is made available for attendees of the Internationale Spieltage SPIEL'19 (24.10. - 27.10.2019) to offer games for auction and/or bid on games offered.
All handovers (game <-> money) will take place at the fair. Hence no shipping fees will apply which will make these trades much more attractive.
However, be aware of the following:
Do only offer games you really want to sell --> keep in mind your luggage capacity as you’ll have to bring everything to Essen
Do only place bids if you are really interested in buying the game --> keep an eye on your budget.
After a successful auction do your utmost to arrange for a handover at the fair.
The majority of participants will not encounter any serious issues with their trades. However, in some rare occasions unwanted things have happened in previous years: Offers and bids might get deleted during the course of the auction or people might not show up for handover at the fair.
This is not a professional auction site and there is no way to sanction any rule violations.
By adding a game / placing a bid to this auction list you’ll accept that 'things' could happen to you and
you declare that you’ll behave and act like the decent folk we all are:
- be polite
- try to resolve any conflict by contacting each other
- any blacklisting of users is an offense against BGG etiquette and will not be tolerated but reported to BGG admins
If you think that you might have problems with this disclaimer I kindly recommend not to participate in this auction list, but to offer your games on professional platforms.
Compared to last year’s lists I’ve rewritten the rules to try to anticipate some of the more frequent questions/concerns/problems which have been encountered in the previous years.
So please take some time and read the rules carefully.
If you find something unclear/missing/etc. please let me know via GM or in the discussion thread (link in comment section).
According to BGG rules it is mandatory for all participants to sell their items through BGG Marketplace
so BGG could collect the 3% commission
(this can be done individually per item by using the Quick Marketplace function or as one listing after the sales have been completed).

A. One Pager Auction list provided by Peyo61 to browse through the geeklist list (see rule 2e)
B. Auction list entry tool provided by tarrow for adding your games to the list (see rule 5d).
To reduce scrolling I've reduced the header section by moving the detailed rules to the comment section at the bottom.
Updated Meeting Point:
The Math Trade meeting has been relocated. Merz Verlag has now offered to hold the meeting indoors in hall 7 and starting time has been agreed to be 15:00.
I'm happy to see that the MathTrade and No Shipping Auction are now being recognized as offical parts of Spiel.
Due to the late announcement of this change some irritation/confusion is supposed to be caused due to the fact that most auction items do state 12:00 as meeting time. However, I would not recommend to everybody to start updating his items now as this will cause huge amounts of subscription being triggered. Just correct the time slot when you are getting in contact with your trading partners.
For further announcements/updates regarding this meeting point please follow/subscribe to the announcements Ben will make in the Math Trade Thread.(rule 7b has been updated accordingly). Please consider this when arranging your handovers:
The annual Math-Trade is better than any flea market for used games. Here players can already post games for sale ahead of the event on the internationally highly frequented platform BoardGameGeek. If they find a buyer, the exchange takes place at SPIEL. For the purpose of the exchange, the players meet and hold up signs with their BoardGameGeek nicknames. Friedhelm Merz Verlag is especially pleased that these meetings can now take place again indoors daily in Hall 7 after the completed reconstruction of the hall.
