In 1992, Europe was a fashionable subject. Ten years later, the Euro was introduced replacing quite a lot of local values.
This had an effect on games. I was personally asked to make a game for schools to train kids with the new currency. And I remember games by Clementoni oand others that were to be sold in shops and had a similar aim. A friend of mine made an exibit with games about Euro that went around in several towns.
I can't see the games I remember on BGG. Besides, I am very curios to know what happened in other countries (15 of them made Euro coins...) - I do not see foreign games too. Was it only an Italian fashion?
Please, please add any pre-2002 game that involves the use of the European currency. Thanks!

A game given for free in schools to 170.000 11-13 years old kids in the Latium region (the one around Rome) to train them in the exchange rate and to help them to check price levels pre- and post-Euro.

A game to teach English to kids. It came out in Italy and Greece. It already had Euro banknotes in 1999 - from the real banknotes, beside. One of the arguments in promoton was that it would also get the kids used with the new currency.

Well, some of you do not like Monopoly... And I have not played it in the last 20 years or probably more. Anyway, this is an edition with ECU (the European currency used before Euro - just for accounting, since it has never been printed).

Players buy engines, electrical systems, chassis and other car parts from all over the world, at different prices, paying in dollars, ECUs and yens. Three sets of money banknotes are included in the box. Assembled cars are sold in Europe, America or Asia getting the price in local currency. The exchange rate among them depends on their use by the players.

From 1999. If you click on the picture, you'll be able to see the different currencies. The denominations are wrong and they're squeezed to fit on cards, but euro are there.
