Assume there's a little kid, who cannot own standard playing cards due to religious beliefs of the parents. If our hypothetical kid wanted to play standard playing card games, what games would provide suitable playing equipment?

That's what I used when I was a kid. Good except for low-quality cardboard cards and 10 card suits.

The game designed for the particular purpose. Four 14 card suits plus one joker. No distinction between face and number cards, and suits are differentiated by color.

Almost standard playing-cards, although the imagery and the non-standard suit symbols have oriental flavour. The package contains two decks, but special cards are included only in one. Thus, functions also as a double deck, but not as a double deck with jokers (as only one of the decks contains extra cards, and the decks have slightly different backs).

A double "deck" of tiles with two jokers. No distinction between face and number tiles, and suits are differentiated by colors.

Use if no better alternative is found. Four suits indicated by colors. Use 0's as tens, S(kip) as a jack, D(raw two) as a dame and R(everse) as a king. Does not function as a double deck, since the deck contains only four 0's.

Well, I've used my spare cards from this CCG to build a poker style deck. Ha ha, just show mom & dad THESE demon-worshipping/magic-using cards & maybe the regular poker deck won't look so bad...

So getting hypothetical kid into a board game like this is maybe a slim chance then?

(That kind sounds like a super hero side kick name Hypothetical Kid...with the power to not exist)

On a serious level to address your question Spite and Malice is cool, and cheap. Think it's 5 bucks at K-Mart and is quite fun...of course those cats are trying to kill each other. SIGH. So maybe not.

Has a deck Similar to Sticheln, but includes a handful of symbol cards: "!", etc. Nothing occult-like.

Well, assuming the hypothetical parents aren't exactly the sharpest knives in the drawer, they could be fooled with a Go-nin-Kan deck... "No, look, it's only apples and cherry blossoms... and, um... Shinto deities..."

So maybe not. But the cards are pretty!
