Back for the eleventh year...
Wow. Eleven years for this little contest.
We're a bit late and only had a three week open nomination period, but the nominations list is now closed and we have the top5060 nominees that will vie to make the cut for the top 20 in this most in-formal and un-official contest. Although the nominations field was expanded to 60, when it comes to the final votes there will be no quarter. Top 20 or you're out.
This year we return to titles that can crack the nomination barrier of 1K nomination votes, with Kingdom Rush: Rift in Time and Destinies joining Sorcerer, Rising Sun, Scythe, Gloomhaven, and The 7th Continent as the only titles to ever reach that level.
As usual, we also have a number of nominees competing within the various categories. The number of entries in a category depended on the size of the category. When there was a tie for the last spot, all tied nominees were added (which is why some polls have a couple of extra games). I also adjust the category sizes to minimize the Best of the Rest category.
This is also the second year of category limits, so each nominee can appear in at most two categories outside the overall, repeat offender, and not crowd funded categories. While that means that some categories will not have the top nominees, hopefully it will mean the voting poll is slightly less formidable (even though it is still formidable, it is less than it might have been).

Voting closes at the end of the day (CST) Saturday, February 29th.
Vote for any and all you are excited about. You can vote for multiple games in one category, and/or the same game in different categories.
Campaigning for your favorites
Go for it. If you're a publisher, designer, or designer's mom don't hesitate to campaign for your favorites. Bribing voters is fine too. Pretty much anything goes as long as kittens, puppies and small children aren't injured. We have to draw the line somewhere.
Bribing Voters
In the past, publishers and designers have offered web released scenarios, special cards, etc. as bribes to voters if they reach a certain position in the final voting. This is completely acceptable as it drives anticipation, which is the point of this contest.
Don't forget that all bribes need to comply with BGG's policies on contests and promotions. General guidance is that whatever bribe is offered needs to be available to everyone, and, for example, not just those that win copies of games. A good example of a bribe that stays within BGG's policies are Sandy Peterson's offer to release rules for a new Great Old One in Cthulhu Wars, or designers/publishers that offer to release web scenarios.
In the end, the intent of the bribes is just to have fun and allow publishers/designers to give a nod to all their anticipant fans.
If you have any questions regarding whether a bribe you're contemplating runs contrary to BGG rules I would suggest sending a geekmail to Octavian or Chad.
Missed the nominations? Can a game still be nominated?
No late nominations can be accepted. Once a BGG poll is created it cannot be altered, so there is no way to accept late nominations.
Editing your vote, and voting in phases
You don't have to complete the poll all at once. If you only want to complete one or two sections fill those out, and click the "Vote" button at the bottom.
Then, when you come back, click the "Questions" button to see the poll again, and fill another section or change your existing votes. Then, click the "Vote" button again.
You can even do this to change your vote for sections you have completed.
Your votes are editable until the poll closes.
Good luck to all the finalists in this most in-formal and un-official competition!!!Poll: 20 Most Anticipated Games of 2020 Category: Grognard
