Punctual as ever, I arrived at 7pm and found Nate, Lori, Maciek, and Alan there. When Kelly arrived, Maciek, Alan, Kelly, Nate and I started a game of Die Sieben Siegel to pass the time (The Seven Seals).

One of the game highlights for me was the third hand, where I was dealt 5 15s and a couple trump, and bid one blue. Only later did I see the 14 blue hiding behind the 15!! Fortunately, I was able to sluff this off. Alan had taken the Saboteur that round, and was stealing tricks from people with his red. He only stuck 1 black, but 2 of the players had 2 or 3 of their original bids left at the end of the round, so that was pretty sweet.

We didn't end up keeping score, as it was pretty much a learning game. I don't recall getting stuck with points during any of the rounds, though. Almost, on that last one!

I really like this game. People say it's evil, but I think it's just good screwage.

Players: Lori Lisa Don

Arriving after Adam had started teaching Die Sieben Siegel (i think that was the one), Lisa and I joined Lori to play a couple of rounds of Snatch while waiting for that game to be played.

While I like word games, i'm definitely not all that good at them, while Lisa excels at them. We played two games, and i didn't write down the scores, but she one the first probably by 10 points with Lori 5 or so points above me. The second game i thought i was doing better, with some steals early on, but by the end Lisa, had made up the ground with and easily took the win again.

Players: Don Lisa Adam Alan

I hadn't ever played this, but it was a Christmas gift from Lisa and having read the rules i was looking forward to playing it. No one else had (well Adam had played the computer version), so i ran through the rules pretty quickly and i think i it all right.

Started off pretty good, with me "messing" with Adam at the end of the first week, just for the fun of it. The second and third weeks went much friendlier. As we got to the end of the game, i saw my path and debated whether or not i could get away with out any camels with two players left, and too the chance, and it paid off. Alan and Adam had to go after me, and much of my fate was in their hands. Neither one took the opportunity to send one of my goods to the caravan, and after they had played i squeaked out the win by one point.

Had Alan send one of my items off, i would have been probably 10 points further back, but it probably would have let Adam grab the win. Had Adam sent one of mine off rather than his play of his own, i would again been back, but Adam too would have been further back giving Alan the win. So in the end each of us played for our best score which gave it to me, and by the looks of it, any moves to hinder one or another, would have given them game to the third person.

Lisa was in good position for most of the game, but got blocked out a bit in the third week, costing her some building areas.

Don: 63
Adam: 62
Alan: 62
Lisa: 42

And thanks to Lisa for the cool game , one i look forward to playing some more.

Players: Maciek Nate Lori Kelly

While we sat down with Yspahan, Maciek pulled this out with the rest of the group. I don't know anything about how the game went other than the final scores, but taking a look at the board while they were playing it looked interesting. Some nice pieces, and tile laying, i suspect it would be one i'll like, and hopefully i'll get a chance to play it.

Kelly: 67
Nate: 63
Lori: 58
Maciek: 56

Players: Don Lisa Alan

After Yspahan Adam took off for the night, and the others were still in their game, so we pulled this out as we all knew it and knew it would be fairly quick.

I managed to position myself into a couple of enclosed areas, and thought i was doing fairly well. Lisa had also grabbed an enclosure or two, while Alan didn't get any. I was thinking we were all fairly equal as far as water holes and oases gathered.

Getting toward the end of the game, i looked around seeing i could grab one more longest, but then Lisa setup so anyone could end it. It took the chance i had the lead and ended the game. I should have gone for the purple caravan length, though it might not have helped as i think that would have just shifted 10 points from Lisa to me. Alan however managing to collect 3 longest pulled out the win, but it was close. I wasn't quite as well off as i thought. I'll figure that one of these days, atleast i'm starting to see things on the board now fairly naturally.

Alan: 80
Lisa: 78
Don: 69
