Spite bonus: Sending monsters after the other players while you go after the quests.
(This actually applies for either of the Dungeoneer games.)

The whole premise of this game is sending monster, magic and traps after your opponent to reduce their life points to zero. Yes, it's only a 1v1 game, but I think the spite factor still applies here.

When there are conflicts for a patronage position, players MUST screw at least one player. There is no way to be nice in this game, even if you wanted to be nice.
