A small list of games I’ve seen released in Japan with different box or component artwork than other versions.

This is just a personal list rather than completist endeavor so I'm not including certain versions where I feel the art was simply updated when the game was re-released at another time/place.

I really love seeing different re-themes and incarnations! Perhaps this list may be useful when choosing which edition of a particular game to buy.

Box and components. And the original Japanese release was called R. By the second edition, it seems to have been retitled to R-Rivals.

One of the first games I ever bought. Was very surprised when I went on BGG to proudly add it to my collection and found it's been re-themed with rats.

This is technically listed as "reimplemented" on BGG and I'm not familiar enough with One Night Ultimate Werewolf (2014) to compare it directly to One Night Werewolf (2012)...but I still thought I would list it here because I like the Japanese pixel art style for this whole series and I strongly doubt that "Ultimate" will ever get a Japanese release since the One Night Series already exists here. (And continues to thrive with new releases. The most recent one being a Kirby collaboration!)
