This is a (mostly) personal list of games that I'll buy if/when I see them available at a price I'm willing to play. Unless I happen to be in an inconvenient place (like overseas with an already overstuffed set of luggage).

Any comments would be welcome but I'm not asking for them.

An easily portable two player game that won't require anything more than a flat surface to play on. Bonus, it won't blow away in a breeze and isn't likely to get unclean to an extent it can't easily be cleaned.

Since seeing the video podcast by Scott Nicholson I've wanted this (much as I wanted Wits & Wagers after seeing the related podcast, that was easier to find).
I hope to be able to play both with church friends, I just need to arrange a gathering that will have people show up (and get the game itself of course).

I really don't expect to see this anywhere for an 'acceptable' price, but even with having never played it I'm quite certain I will like it.

Wizards.com has an online implementation of this that I've played a few games of now and while I was thoroughly beaten by the bots I do like it. And hope to do better against flesh and blood opponents.

2009-04 I've now played against actual people and did enjoy it. I don't know that I would be able to convince many others to play though.

2013-05 One of the SAGA members has a copy, it's been played reasonably often. I still like, I'm usually willing to play. I doubt there's much point in getting my own copy now. (But I still would if I saw it cheap.)

I don't know how I managed to miss adding this earlier.

I was interested from the moment I came across it in a geeklist intended to recommend games based on an individuals Myers-Briggs type. I didn't get to play it until more than two years had passed however and I haven't had many chances to play since, especially without also needing to teach at least one of those involved.

I expect the limited number of things that can be done each round and the fact there are only 7 rounds both contribute to how much I like it. I much prefer order to chaos and games without specific end conditions annoy me. There's bound to be a little positive influence from the "tetris" shapes as well.

Bearing similarities to Blokus (which I own) I've played this online and enjoyed the scoring system, being forced to diversify instead of maxing particular colours was a welcome change.

Clue was one of my favourite games as a child, and one of the few that my sister and I both enjoyed. From what I've seen of this (in the minimal research I've done) it is more of a "gamer's game" and thus I'm likely to enjoy it more.

Now that I've played this a couple of times (one 2-player, one 3-player) I'm not quite so sure I'll be buying it if I see it. The people I play games with/against now have a copy after all.
The difference between 1 and 2 opponents was quite noticeable so I'll be interested to see how much changes with 3 or 4 opponents.
It is very simple in rules complexity but like a lot of other games requires a reasonable amount of thought to find the 'best' action{s}.

I get to play this once a month (over the past six months since my first game) and am still enjoying it.
Think ahead is important as far as deciding where to build next, which plants to bid on and what resources to buy up big. As such I probably wouldn't get to play this a lot with the main group of friends I have now, even if I was to start up my own game nights, but I'd still like a copy of my own.
I get the feeling I won't win many games, even if I avoid playing against the 'winner' of the group I play with.

2009-03 I haven't yet played with a physical set this year but I did manage 13 games over the course of 2008. Largely as a result of BSW making it easier to play I'm not wanting this anywhere near as much as I was.

Connect 4 but more complicated I suppose. Having to think, not only during your own turn but in your opponents means it's unlikely that you can afford to not pay attention at any point.

Really not the sort of game I expect would think I'd like. There's a bluffing element, and only one person loses.
But each game I've played in has had laugh out loud moments and that has to be a good thing from my perspective.

I've only played 3 games so far (one each of 3, 4, and 5 player) and much like I was with Vikings I'm already sure that I'd like a copy of my own.
Five players seems too cramped for my tastes, but 3 and 4 were good. It may simply be me wanting more choice than 5 ends up allowing in the final round.
I was expecting luck to be a bigger part of things than the dice end up making in it. Although playing against someone that rolls poorly (in everything apparently) alters where bets go if they're the harbour-master.

2011-01 After playing a few more games over the past couple of years I don't think I would like this after all. Lots of luck in the dice rolling and a bad first round basically cripples you for the rest of the game. I'll probably play when given the chance but I'm not likely to suggest it often.

I feel no pressing need to buy this, being aware of three other copies I could play with if the need really developed is a big part of that. But, I would like a copy of my own at some point. Catan: Cities & Knights would also be good at some point.

2010-12 I've played more of this over the past couple of years and no longer think I'd play it if I had a copy of my own, there's too many other games I'd rather play, even from my limited collection.

I've played three games so far, and while I prefer (so far at least) the "Family" game I'm quite willing to play the normal, card driven version.
I won't be getting a copy any time soon, mainly because those I normally game with have at least one copy so far and the others I get to game with aren't likely to be as interested.

2008-12 After a few more plays, I'm taking this off the list as I'm no longer interested enough. Give it another year or so and that may change.

2009-11 My other opponent has got a copy of his own. I won't feel any need to get my own copy now.

It should be reasonably cheap, although for little more than a bunch of cards it will seem expensive.
The thing is though, I am quite sure it will get played if I bring out a copy when I'm spending time with certain groups. And it should be enjoyed by most of those that might play it.

2012-10 I think I know of at least 4 copies of this that I could play if I wanted, there may even be more. No need for me to own it.

The first game I've taken "off" the list. With UberPlay going out of business a friend was kind enough to be a middleman before they become 'rare'

My parents already have a copy of this so I won't be going and buying my own (especially when the ones I've been seeing of late are about half size) but I must remember to get it off them if they don't have any particular desire for it.

Second to come "off" the list. According to my parents the copy I thought was theirs is actually mine and as I see no likelihood of either my sister or them wanting it I had no problem accepting that belief.

A fairly simple game to learn as far as choices and rules are concerned.
The setup is random enough that things are different every game but it's the same process every turn. And even with only two people playing there's only 36 turns for the entire game.
I don't seem to understand what I should be interested in at each stage of the game so far, especially with regard to the fishermen.
I think it's a game that my 'other' game group could be interested in if given the chance though.

Third "off" the list as I purchased a copy shortly before Christmas, that my parents will actually be buying for me.

A worker placement game that I like (Agricola comes close but is less "fun")
I've only played three games so far and all were teaching games so I may change my mind about it when I play a game with people that all know what they're doing.
The rules are quite simple, the interactions are easy to understand, but actual strategy takes a while to figure out. And what each player thinks is most important is dependent on their perceptions so each person could be competing or allowed to go their own way.

Fourth off the list as of the middle of February 2009 and my copy has been played a few times. The other set at least a dozen more. Now I'm more familiar with it I notice differences due to the number of people involved.

Looks like a very simple game to teach, plays quickly and yet is almost guaranteed to reward 'clever' play more than random play.
2010-07 I got to play a couple of games and think I was right with my assessment. Depending on the price this could be the next to come of the list as soon as I start getting enough money to have regular disposable income.

2011-11 Saw the third edition for 25% off so I now have a copy. The tiles are smaller than I'd prefer, but it still works well enough. The box is definitely a convenient size though.

It's a game played with magnets. Being of the opinion I'm reasonably dexterous most of the time I hope to be able to do well. Of course that's all hypothetical until I have a chance to play.
Someone I was seeing each November (we both take part in NaNoWriMo) has played this and enjoyed it enough that the enthusiasm was obvious as he described it to myself and another writer.

2012-10 I got a copy of this through an online deal and a friend with an account there. It quickly got enough play that it was the centre of a tournament at the end of last month.

I really should have added this much earlier. From the first time I saw it (and got to read the rules) I've thought it sounded fun. Since playing the first time I've wanted to play more. How much advantage experience brings I'm not yet sure of but it does exist which means I'd probably not enjoy playing against new players as much, meaning I might not bring it out as often as it would deserve.

2012-10 After a member of the SAGA group got a copy and started bringing it along I've played this a lot recently and am now sure that I would still enjoy playing it with new players. As long as they were the sort of players that could deal with their constructions going boom.

2012-12 Received as a gift and as yet I've not played my copy, but I now know of a few copies that I'll be able to play at times so I'll continue playing it frequently.
