Here is a list of some of my senseless reasons for bugying games.

Aside from the usual reasonable evaluations process:

First THE category : AT or ES,
Then check the playtime and mechanics;
Download and reading the rules to make sure it fits YOU;
Checkout the components/production value...

But in the recess of my mind I have these unbelievably senseless reasons that butt their ugly heads to me...

Am I insane? Or is this a form of OCD ?

And hey, add your own weird inklings...

To have at least 1 game from all "major" "modern" game Publishers.

I know.. this is probably impossible .. and hence this list.(?) And that's one of the reason I got Tiki Mountain! (I know ... bad choice)

Major = have publish enough games; or enough good games?
Modern = post 1945? maybe?

This is totally irrational, right?

To have at least 1 game for every "major" game mechanics out there

This can be done, I think ....but then again I'm not sure how to classify the wheel Vikings.. or Darjeeling thingmagajig ....and don't start the dicsussion on what is the rondel...

Yeah, I know... it's nice to learn or see someone come up with a new mechanic or scoring system --- so as long as it is not filled with exceptions and not-intuitive (Merchants of Amsterdam anyone?)

To have at least 1 game for "every gaming occasion"

This can be slightly different from the previous one. You can have a situation with mixture of players from different groups but stuck in a situation where they can't play the games of otheir likings.. so you breakout the party games or the fillers and get them to start 'communicating' .. in Gaming Pergatory!!!!!

I got Tsuro, balloon Cup, Fluxx just becuase of this. They all play relatively quickly, up to good number of players, .. and gets people 'talking'...

But Tsuro gets a wrap from my gaming group as being broken ?.. last person in a large group has the advantage ???

To have at least 1 game for every "interesting" THEME

Back to a tough one. Pompeii appeals to me because of the a kind of 'sucidial' robot theme with an area majority mechanic. Along the line of Gloom.

There's also Hell-The game, which is sitting in a FLAG talking to my head right now.

At least 1 game for every city I visited

This might sound easy but I also want to get a good game too. Venice, Florence, Amsterdam, Marrekesh, Cairo, Istanbul, Rome, Berlin, London and the likes are easy, but I'm having trouble with

Paris? I want a more intricate game for such a vast and complex city not Paris, Paris or Metro?): anything on the catacombs?
Barcelona?
Nice?
Pisa?

Any suggestions?

To have at least 1 game that is 'hard to find' or in an out of print edition

Come on, admit it. You have one of these... so you can show it off to someone who's browsing your collection and say... 'what is this?'

while I got Elementalis on a trip 1/2 way around the world for us Canadians to Australia.. I really wanted was Elements.

At least one game for every game box size

This is a fairly stupid reason I must admit. But I'm not quite there yet.

You have the feather weight card games like Fluxx, Gloom, Coloretto ..etc
The small ones like Stack Market, To Court the King, ..etc
The small mediums like On the Underground, Pandemic, TtD or the Queens size games
The standard Alea games
The medium large ones like San Marco, Oasis, Powergrid, Thebes
The oversize ones like Doge

I'm missing the super large ones..was thinking about TWIII but that's not really my type of game. So i'm down to CotE or Railroad Tycoon.
