I only spent a 3 days at GameDays. I would have liked to do more, but a lack of available leave was the culprit here. I played a lot of good games and had great time with good friends. the Silent Auction was great again this year, and the organizers did very well to put on a great con.

Started out with a prototype by Pandemic designer Matt Leacock. This is an excellent game that I hope sees the light of day very, very soon. Played this with kvn299, caesarmom, and zalasta.

I played the first game of Dominion of the day next... 2 more were later in the evening. An excellent game with tremendous replayability.
Just so that this game doesn't keep showing up... I also played it 5 times on Saturday, and 3 more on Sunday. I played it with everyone who would play it with me.

I finally got to try out Pandemic. Caesarmom taught me, scfishman, and jerseygamer how to play, and we were ultimately victorious.
Played again on Sunday with ipecac, fairersex, and eric haas, though we apparently need to work on it, as much of the world's population was wiped out.

Played a fast filler while we were just talking. Cute and fun, i sucked at this one, even though I had done much better in earlier plays. i suspect overconfidence might have been a factor.

Played with the same 4 as above, and didn't realize we had to teach jerseygamer, who was just going to play with no instruction i think. He's a gamer! scfishman couldn't get a pair and so ended with -2 while i finally had good hands the whole game and won this for the first time, Woot!

What is a con without Tichu, eh? Played 2 games, winning one and losing one, but I did not record the scores or the other players. I think my wife was in at least one of the games.

I played a 5-player game to end the night on Friday. I don't know what happened, as I completely tanked, coming in 5th. Played with fairersex, ipecac, littlepegasus, and eric haas.

Opened the morning with another game, where sleep must have helped me as I managed a nice win. Played this with plurie, sislar, and 2 others that I only have first names for, Pete and Nick.

Got in a nice 5-player game. We ran out the deck, something i have not seen before! tmccorry won handily with a ton of cards in the vault, scfishman, ipecac and LeslieB were the other players.

Did lunch, played Tichu, played Dominion, then...
Played this with zalasta, caesarmom, and scfishman. I took a gamble and grabbed a bunch of law cards that would get me cheap upgrades of goods, then upgraded before knowing exactly what i needed. It payed off and i managed the win.

scfishman bought hte last copy the designer had, then we made him teach us to play. the gameplay will surprise you with the spacial planning needed for what looks like a light kids affair. Played with the same 4 as above, and we had a nice tight game.

Played a game of Tichu in which ipecac and I tore up our surfitch and Two Wide 1040 to 260... It's good to be a Not Steve.
Then i played this... This is like a stripped down Capitol in card game form. Not bad, but a little too short and not deep enough. Played with ipecac and fairersex and i won in a very tight game.

scfishman (who won), ipecac (who never once successfully scurried under a fridge), fairersex, leslieb and I all had a good time with this little filler. Fun and fast, it was worth playing.

Had a great time with this. I took the win, despite a few questionable answer lists... we had eric haas, jerseygamer, ipecac, fairersex, scfishman, bstal39 and I playing.

We ended the night with a late, late game of PowerGrid, on the benelux map.
It was a real nail biter and came right down to the wire. I wanted to end it earlier, but ipecac, jerseygamer, fairersex and I all had 13 capacity and i could not count on winning the money tiebreaker if i built 2 more cities than everyone else.
On the last turn, ipecac, fairersex, and i built to 17 capacity, jerseygamer and eric haas only made it to 16. After buying resources and building, only fairersex and i had 17 (ipecac stopped at 16 due to cash issues), eric haas and ipecac were at 16, and jersey gamer was at 15.
I had $10 more than fairersex, and so took the win. Whew! Close game. Very tense and satisfying.

My first game on sunday was this odd little set collection/auction game. I am glad i played it, but don't feel the need to play it again.
played this with sirbasil2000 and scfishman, who had picked out all his Hans im Gluck unplayed games and brought them to Game Days, and was now able to leave with them all played. Good Jorb!

I thought i was doing well, but did not realize how good everyone else was doing. kmusser won with 53, followed by rodspade with 43, me with 41, and oboewan with 39.

Played some more Dominion, then another prototype, this one was a stock market game that needs a bit of polish and some adjustments for the modern gamer mindset, but was otherwise quite good. Played with mease19, kmusser, and scfishman.

Too bad we could not go out on high note. Still, we had a great time playing, and seeing everyone at GameDays.
