Ok I admit it. I am not a Eurogamer. When I play a game I want conflict plain and simple.I usualy get this fix by playing light to medium weight wargames but every once in awhile I want to play a Euro type game.

So here is a list of the eurogames I have played, I own or would like to own.

Please give me some more suggestions. My euro game collection is preaty sad actually and I would like to rememdy this.

Conflict? Directly building armies and navies to crush other people's temples.

Euro? Only luck is which nation you start out as, definite engine/efficiency aspects, and the goal isn't to crush your opponents, but to have the most famous people in your civilization (...some of which, are Generals).

From what I had read this game looked good but it has 350
miniatures. That sounded much more Ameritrash than euro. But
at the last con I went to I got to play and its 80-90% euro. Lots of
direct competition for resouces but best of all you can send soldiers to the new world and shoot other colonist. In fact a soldiers never miss .

One of my new favorite games.

Best with 3, IMHO- but an excellent 2 player variant here also.

If Diplomacy-style combat fits what you're looking for. This is a polarized deign. Most people love or hate. I'm in the former group. Although I displike playing with people who like to have all the relationships between players prenegotiated before playing. I like to try to infer what people are doing and play accordingly. Also to make the game go faster.

This seems like a fairly obvious choice, especially given your high consideration of Wallace's Age of Steam. And at the risk of getting too abstract, there are of course other good Wallace designs: Brass, Princes of the Renaissance, Perikles, Liberte (in that order).

Its like two games in one -- an election game (really sort of a perverse area majority game) followed by some dice rollin and killin of Spartans -- or Athenians if you prefer. This should definitiely scratch the conflict itch, and has just enough chrome to make it work for me.

Conflict doesn't have to be on a map. Sometimes it's on a linear track. You took my stone? Fine, I'll grab the 3 coins space and block the sell a cube spot even though I have no intention of using it, all so you won't be able to stay in the bidding long enough, unless you want to be very poor. I'll also take the move the provost space. Then I'll move the provost back three. You'll pay to move it forward three, but I'll still pay to move it back two, all so you won't get the stone. That was my stone. If I can't have it, no one can.

Settlers would seem to fit the bill here. No combat, at least on the board, but there's competition for space (for road and settlement placement) and of course for resources. That conflict only ratchets up when someone's near the VP threshold, as (in my experience) that person usually gets cut off from trading.

Vicious two-player game of building, attacking, and defending bridges between islands. With a little careful planning, it is possible to create chain reactions that destroy half your enemy's bridges in a single move. Timing your attacks is critical, because if you attack too soon, you can make yourself significantly more vulnerable to counterattacks.

This game is mean! Features two main kinds of conflict.

First, your meeples (campesinos) can "chase off" enemy meeples by attacking with a numerical or height advantage.

Second, you can dam the eponymous rivers, completely rerouting the rivers. Because everything depends on being next to a river, the battles over damming the rivers are quite intense.

A very aggressive, very euro cardgame. Been quite a while since I last played it, but as I remember it most of the special abilities were about removing cards or directly messing with the other opponent in some other way. Not one of my favorites, but certainly fits this list.
