Ron Clement (happyboy) is running a charity raffle and mentioned wanting to figure out how to play Great Dalmuti while running (He's running for leukemia.)

I realized that this might be a fun list. What can you play while running or walking? Magnetic boards okay, but cards or ....

Ron's thread is

Elfenroads, Roads and Boats + &cetera, Double the GG & more! All money goes to Leukemia Lymphoma Society!

at

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/304063.

The actual charity is at

http://www.active.com/donate/tntsvmb/tntsvmbRClemen.

The raffle is almost over, so check it out.

Also, Mendon Dornbrook (mdornbrook) is donating geekgold to anyone who contributes. Check out his post at:

Thanks for the support and donation Rob. You are all set for the raffle. Now all I have to figure out is how to get folks to play Great Dalmuti while we are running....

Good idea? Other ideas?

But also think about games he can play while running for leukemia.

Ace of Aces - Handy Rotary Series (or most of the A of A games).

You just need the two game books in the basic game. Call out page numbers and keep damage points in your head. That's it.

Jotto is the first game that came to my mind. As long as you kept the words limited to three or four letters, you could easily play it in your head.

With only 11 cards and each player keeps a hold of their hand of cards, this would be fairly easy to play while running.

Same basic idea as Lost worlds, just a very different theme. Book and card, not just book, but still... only takes two hands.

By writing numbers down the side, and using a paper clip, one can also track the ht points on the card sans-pencil.

Use blue-tac instead of counters on the power/shield cards.

Walking only.

it is (also) essentially the same idea as Ace of Aces, but with a different presentation.

Popcorn would work. (Not the one you see above, it's an improv game to get players warmed up.) Get yourself in a small group (or large, but you'll need to hear each other so that may limit it while you're running) and attempt to collectively count to twenty. The rules; you can only say one number at a time, the turn order must be random and if two people say the same number at the same time you have to start again. It's not a real brain burner, but it's pretty fun.
