The last day, I arrive a bit late... around 1:30, but I at least save a bit of the time by grabbing food to go and eating on the drive there.

Quite a few less people today, but still a good number playing games.

I was only able to play two games before the game I was playing was needed at 4pm for the play and win table.

The play and win table was very popular, it seemed like that's what most people played. ( although I did see plenty of people's favorites that they had brought to play )

It's been a good experience, I now can put names on BGG with faces. I'm also amazed at how many local boardgamers there are... I want to hit some of the game nights and meetup groups around the city now to continue playing until the next Geekway.

I saw Jay playing at the front table earlier in the day and 4 of us milling around the play and win table decided to try it. None of us had played before, but someone was able to check the rules and it turned out to be very simple. It's a tile laying game but with special actions when your mini moves through the dungeon. It reminded me a by of Betrayal on House Hill with the tile laying and movement, but it was so much simpler. Tiles can be destroyed, rotated, etc with the special actions -- there is even a dragon that can be moved. The only object is to gather 10 gold pieces staying alive while doing it while trying to prevent others from doing the same.

I see a chance to use it to introduce it to my non-gamer friends as good 20-30min game so it will probably be on my next game order.

After seeing this be the most played game from the play and win table all weekend, I'm glad to finally be able to play. With the same group of 4 from the Drakon game, we started with 2 having played before and myself and another just learning.

The explanation of the turns was simple enough, but it took the whole game to understand all the multipliers, and possible card and hut meanings. That a bit of a problem starting these types of resource collecting and converting games... so much to do at first, and not knowing much of a strategy, so at first I floundered a bit.

Like other games of this type I've tried this weekend (Oasis, Oregon, Thebes) the multipliers and concentrating on one specialization is key to the big points. I ended up focusing on huts, but only one hut multiplier... my real thought was to end the game quicker because some of the other strategies others were using were better served by a long game... or so I thought at the time. I think I ended close to 130. The winner had 2 major specializations -- 10 people and multipliers and lots of unique culture cards.

I'm definitely still interested in playing more, so this also goes on my buy list.

I saw this on the play & win table, but it was very popular and I didn't have a chance to play. I'm wanting to learn more wargames and this seems like a light transition from what I've read.

Although I have this game - I haven't had a chance to play many games... I saw one group had it setup, but they were playing an enormous map. Still, interesting to go over and watch for a bit.

At the beginning of the play and win drawings, pitchcar was being played at the front. It's one of the few dexterity games I saw being played ( Sac Noir, I guess was the other )

So many games.... the variety was fantastic.

I saw a few games of Combat Commander going.. I'm not sure I had the brain power left after the full day of Saturday, but a short scenario of this would have been fun.
