I haven`s found a Geeklist for this, but I would love to have a real "Gamers` Guide to the World", wherein all the absolutely outstanding places to stop by on a trip around the world are described.

So, add real places, if you`ve been there or not, but recommended for a gamer travelling around the world, to stop by.

Please, comply with the following:

1. Real places to enjoy boardgaming!

2. Entries as cities, if possible.

3. No mere shops, there are lists galore for that.

4. No conventions or other events reduced to a couple of days a year.

5. Tell us, where it is, what to do there and why it is so great.

Thanks for a huge amount of additions, so gamers could travel around the world and find great places all over the world to meet up, join game groups, play games!

BERLIN

TRIANGEL:
Spielecafé und –kneipe (Gamers` café & restaurant) in Berlin.

What:
A restaurant and café with over 200 places inside at wonderful tables, good food and drink plus a "games menu" of over 600 games to order for 1 Euro for each person at your table – for as many games in a row as you want! The menu is ordered in categories, then alphabetically, with recommendations, duration etc., so you will find quickly, what you are looking for. A lot of shorter, lighter games, but also "Imperial", "Battlelore" and the like, and of course all new games.
You can also borrow games and take them at home or even buy them at a fair price (if available in the moment, otherwise the very nice people there can order the game in a couple of days)

Where:
- Germany
- Berlin
- Centre of the eastern part of the (no, not devided anymore!) city.
"S- und U-Bahn" (metro)-station "Friedrichstraße", just follow all signs to the "Pergameonmuseum" or ask your way to that (another place to visit!), you will then walk along some antique shops and cafés built in the sub-structure of the railway, and after a five minutes walk, very close to the Museum, there it is.

Sculpture right in front of the café - you won`t miss it.

Why:
It has a very friendly atmosphere, good light food and a LOT of games to play.
Opening hours: DAILY 10:00 – 26:00 (sic!)

All information about the location, menu, special events ...

There are two other "Triangels" in Dresden and Leipzig (The Berlin one is the most recently opened – May 2008) – but since I was not there, somebody else has to add these here

But there is another Café and "Ludothek" in berlin, a bit out of the centre (but only a short trip with the "S-Bahn" - metro):

SPIELWIESE

The same concept as the "Triangel", but established for a longer time, with over 800 games and everything!

"Spielwiese" has two meanings in German. 1. A playground or playing area, usually for children, 2. Metaphorical an area to try out new things, to freely experiment, kind of "think tank" ... So, this sound great, right?

Homepgae (not too much info):

So, all Berlin visitors - don`t become desperate!

The Game Parlor in Chantilly, Virginia is where I like to go.

There are many tables and even a quiet room for RPG's.

They have a computer bank for PC gamers as well and large tables for the big scale wargames and miniatures.

Very friendly atmosphere with a nice choice of restaurants nearby. The selection of games and card games are very wide and they try to keep everything in stock.

Not as big as the Triangle but it does well for itself.

I thought "the globe" in this list meant The Globe.

So this is my take on places to visit:

you have to visit The (reconstructed) Globe in London.
