There are 2GG up for grabs here.
I am a huge fan of fantasy & sci-fi miniature games where the miniatures are unpainted. Unfortunately this means Games Workshop for the most part, I am a huge fan of their skirmish games like Blood Bowl, Necromunda etc. However having played these to death I am looking for some other games to get. Main criteria:

Unpainted metal miniatures
Sci-fi / Fantasy themes (No historic)
Can have a good game with no more than 5 minis
Simple rules (so I can get others to play!)
NOT Games Workshop (If it is GW then I've played it)
Please include a summary of game play
I will be buying one of these in the next couple of weeks and whoever recommended it gets 2GG

To get the ball rolling here are some titles I would like some info on how they play:
Infinity
Anima Tactics
Rezolution
Urban War ? Metropolis
Alkemy
Dark Age
Hordes / Warmachine
Spinespur
Warlord

Cheers
Raggy

Simple, fast playing fantasy skirmish game with a fair amount of tactical decision making.
There are lots of stats in the book covering general fantasy archetypes, and an Excel spreadsheet on the Yahoo group that lets you design your own character/creatures.

Game uses a neat initiative system, you can take one action with each of your units with no problem. But, you can try to activate them for 2 or 3 actions instead. The catch is if you fail to activate on 2 dice or more, it becomes your opponents turn.

Sticks of 3 different lengths are used for all measurement, which I found to speed gameplay nicely.

Neat game, and it has a related system for more sci fi feel in Mutants And Death Ray Guns. Check out some of the full reviews. And for $4 US it's hard to beat the price.

I wasn't going to add this one initially since it's obviously WWII but since there isn't a whole of of entries on this list I'll throw it in for the heck of it. It's such a neat idea even though it is WWII. The Allied player runs a commando team whos mission is to infiltrate a bunker. This can be through stealth or firepower. The Axis player plays the commander of the bunker who must run around and activate the guards. The game looks very unique but I've always hesitated given the shipping costs from the UK. The game has lots of unique metal minis (bought separately but they are designed for this game). Looks very interesting and since you are in the UK you wouldn't have to have to pay the high shipping costs.

Here's a sort of Doom type game but a bit darker as far as theme goes. I remember coming across this game a while ago and noticing how detailed the minis were. Looks interesting and fits your criteria.

A very cinematic style of play.
You can play everything from Aliens to ninjas, psionic users from a church, blade runners, big robots, BIGGER robots, SWAT-teams, rigger and hacker from shadowrun, kabuki-dolls...

Okay, the starter box(shadow war)comes with 12 figures... but the includet campain startet not with all figures. Also there is the COMPLET rulebook in the box beside Tape measure, special dices and a cd with real cool print-out obstacles (from worldworks).

The rules are easy to understand, even when your english is not so good. Look at my english and you know what I mean

Free quickstarter rules are avalibel under:
http://www.aberrantgames.com/rez/downloads.php

It´s my favorite, and I play/played most of the systems you mention.

Sci-Fi starship combat minis game.

Since the rules are, at the moment, free downloads from GZG, http://www.groundzerogames.net/ then click downloads, rules.

You can try it sans minis, using the counters.
I recommend the rules as upgraded by Fleet Book 1, and the ships therein.

At the moment, all the rules are available for free, including Full Thrust, More Thrust, Fleet Book 1, and Fleet Book 2.

It really needs about 3-5 ships on a side for best play, but it plays well and fast, if just a touch dice heavy.

Minis line is awesome, and many conversions have been made to use other peoples' minis lines.

BTW, FTLight is based upon the FleetBook adaptations.

Oh, and I've played games with up to 10 ships and 20 squadrons on a side. It holds up well.

This new game looks intersting. It fits the same niche as Man-o-war. The ships look great.

Fantastic minis. Solid game.

Same minis can be used for larger battle-scale games (Ragnarok).

Give it a try!

It fits your criteria except no unpainted minis and what does come in the box is plastic. But you could always just repaint the minis.
