Life starts where Monopoly left off, $500. Then it soars to the fanciful $100,000 bill.

The conspiracy:
I have always been suspicious about this. Somebody doesn't want us to get into the lucrative property management, utilities, and transportation markets.
Why slog your way through seemingly endless yes/no decisions waiting to go broke or find yourself in jail? At best you'll end up with a measly tens of thousands of dollars.
No, just keep spinning your way through life driving and letting things happen to you. You will rake in the cash. Don't worry. Even the poorest millionaire is welcome at Millionaire Estates.
Really, you can't even 'play the market' anymore.

And they all stem from the game Pachisi, which I'm pretty sure is Hindi for 'Damn! Still no 5.'

The conspiracy:
I just know some Eurogamer went back in time to help name all of these games and pave the way for future anti-dice sentiment. Or they will go back in time. Oh no! I just gave you the idea didn't I? And I've created a time paradox on top of that. Ahhhhhhh, we're all going to die!

7 people say they own this game, with only 5 plays.

Yet these are essentially the same game. The sole difference is that in War the one who takes everything wins, while in Peace the one who gives everything away wins.

The conspiracy:
This is really the ongoing result of the most successful conspiracy of all time. It's not just advertising. It's not just capitalism. It's not just the primal drive to gather for yourself, your family, and your village in decreasing degrees. I'll admit, I haven't pinned down all of the details of this conspiracy. But I'm sure the Illuminati are involved.

So why no peace?

The conspiracy:
This is the red herring of the list. The answer is right out in the open, though it is code. From this game's description:

Quote:
The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA)produced 10,000 of this game for disadvantaged children throughout Afghanistan.

The game aims to teach children about the key events in the peace process and reconstruction of Afghanistan. It also highlights key issues such as the environment, health, and education.

Players spin a spinner and move their piece (not included) along a path from "the past" to "the future." Along the way they land on squares indicating positive or negative events that either send the player forward or backward.

Did you catch that? In the road to peace, their piece is not included. I guess it's time to go DIY.

Long live the King!

The conspiracy:
Another extremely successful conspiracy. The true history of this game has long ago been buried. The game designer was a very early feminist. She intended the game to be a stinging example of gender roles. The queens use their incredible abilities to move all over the board giving orders and capturing infiltrators, frequently putting their own lives at risk. The kings, if they move at all, are usually running away. Everything is done for the kings; and they get all the glory.
Unfortunately, the game designer was quickly silenced. But the game was so good it survived.

Idea for a possible expansion: 1963: the Death of a President.

Work your way through the game to work out if the CIA, aliens, or the Russians were responsible for JFK's assassination.
