Since we cancelled my regularly scheduled gameday last week due to a family reunion, we picked up the second Saturday when Paul & Julie cancelled. It wasn't a huge gathering, but just big enough for a great day of gaming.

I decided to see if the double dragon can work if pressed. I picked up the Monk and the Fireworks Guy in order to go first and pick up the first round double dragon. Everyone was in the chase for the 1st in the turn order except for Travis, who hung way back and picked up the elders. In the end, Tim kept 3 more workers to edge me out for the win. So the 1st round double dragon doesn't guarantee a win, but it does require a response from the other players so that you don't get it too cheaply.

I have been curious about this game, luckily Brian and Lisa brought it so I got them to teach it to me. It definitely needs a second play. I didn't really use the royal seals, and I think they really needs to be incorporated into a strategy. This is supposed to be a quick playing game, but I see the possibility of AP since there are many different options on every move.

This is a cute "dexterity" game where you bounce marbles into a grid, trying to get three in a row. It is reminiscent of carnival games and a nice change of pace.

I was blessed with great hands this game. I think I broke up an Ace bomb once. Justin and I sped to a big lead, Jay and Hsiu-Ping clawed back, but then we finished up with a quick one-two when the scores were looking close.

Matt, Chris and I were left and since we are all big fans of Glory to Rome, it wasn't difficult to figure out which game to play... four straight times.
--- Game 1 --- 8 Chris 6 Jeff 6 Matt
--- Game 2 --- Jeff (FORUM) Chris Matt
In this game, I had 3 craftsman actions (by playing a petition of 3 merchants). I finished my forum with two of the actions, and with the third, I finished my garden. The garden allowed me an additional 10 or so more clients which I can draw from the deck (from my bar). I only needed the merchant for the forum win, but the first 9 draws were not merchants, but I was lucky and got the win on the last draw. I pretty much screwed up here because I should have refused the last draw and lead the patron next turn to get the merchants I played (which I can throw into the pool despite my sewer).

This is one of my favorite fillers and surprisingly one that Lisa and Brian never played before.

Chris, who claimed that he never had a miscast in this game, had several in this game. It is never good to run out of money before your first production, and have a miscast on that first production--that's what Chris did. It was hard to recover from that.

One last game to close out the night. I think it was a bit too late for Jackie, who kept reminding Nikki of the time. I think we finished around 1 am to close out the fantastic day of gaming.
