Okay. So in general I love ALL these games. But I have some friends who, because they are good at playing them, feel that they - for some reason - are above we poor, simple minded gamers.

I maintain that these games MIGHT lead to an overinflated ego. I say now that the people I'm referring to are in the VAST minority of gamers. Yet they exist never-the-less.

Please feel free to add your own (not your own ego - a game....)

Friends, I LOVE....let me say that again.....LOVE....this game.

But why is it that those few who have made this game a personal cult feel as though they could somehow actually go out, wage a real war and be successful?

Squad Leader and all it's various expansions and advanced forms.

Again - another great game. But I know some people who can't be botherd with a simple game like Puerto Rico or Traders of Genoa. Such rubbish is designed for we simple folk I guess.

There are a few people who absolutely refuse to admit that there are even any other auction mechanic games on the planet besides Ra. I beg to differ.

Republic of Rome is representative for the old school dinosaurs and the games they love. "Bah! You think Age of Steam is heavy?" Get lost, I say. Age of dinosaurs is long gone and yes, it's certainly reasonable to call a three-hour game long.

I'm convinced that I'm God's gift to Through the Desert. I have never lost this game. When I play I feel like that Nash fellow in A Beautiful Mind; it's like I can see all sorts all the possibilities shining on the game board.

OK, that's going too far.

People often accuse me of only playing games that I win. This is untrue, of course, but I certainly prefer to play the ones I win. If you knew me you see that I need any sort of ego boost I can get.

This game is awful if there's even a small difference in skill between players, because the person who is only slightly better ends up winning all the victory points.
