Fairfield County Boardgames invaded Mark's house once again for some gaming goodness with about 12 people coming by.

My list of games played is short (playing Through the Ages tends to limit how many you can play), so i'll leave it to everyone else to fill in the list. And i didn't even write down my scores this time so this is all from memory

Attendees (in order of my memory - so i probably missed someone): Mark Don Lisa Alan Tom Steve Ed Nate Sarah Lis Tom Matt

Players Lisa Don Mark Tom

Mark started the game off with the good numbers, his first turn working on 6,7,8 which unless you have my luck means you can probably get one of them locked away and the other two ok.. In his case he locked the 7 right off the bat. But it was Lisa once again showed her love of dice rolling, and always wanting to go for one more that soon was taking the lead.

For myself i kept rolling the oddball numbers. I think i was the only one on 2 and 12 which is good - and which i managed to get both of, but it meant my turns were shorter as rolling for a 2 5 10 isn't the best odds.

It came down to a race for a 3, Mark and Lisa both needing to win (sorry Tom i don't remember what you had ).. And while Mark had the first opportunity to go for it, he chose to not press his luck. Then on Lisa's next turn, she hit it on her first or second roll taking the win.

Players Don Ralph Alan

Ralph brought this along and being right at the start of the night i decided to get my second play of the game in. The first couple of rounds were me trying to remember what i wanted to do and taking some advice from the others. I got myself to an ok start, opening a small lead on the others. But thats just to start. Event cards kept kicking my butt, i lost 2 population through this (though i did get one back the same way). And then ran into a spot where i wasn't getting enough food to get more people.

And by the time i squared that away, with i'm sure a few mistakes, Ralph had set himself up pretty well to run away with it. Alan decided to declare war on me towards the end, which would have thrown him way a head of me point wise taking away even a battle for second, and there was only about 12 cards left so i honorable declared my civilization had fallen and withdrew.

They finished up a short time later, Ralph stating he didn't quite double Alan's score (ya he had that much of a lead)

Fun game - my second play - i like it just need to play some more to figure out some more (though thats a challenge when each play is a few hours )

Players Don Lisa Mark Sarah

We playede 4 games of Race. Speaking for myself i couldn't seem to get anything i considered solid working, i just sorta went with the flow and most of the time it worked giving me average scores but nothing super. My starting hands each left me going "bleah"

I believe Mark one a couple of them, Sarah won the last one, and i think Lisa might have won one also.
