This was the bonus night this week since most people cannot make it Wednesday night. Our usual spot was filled up so we had it in a new location - Timber Square in Onalaska. We definitely had more room and the tables are bigger. Slighty more echo-y. Upstairs would probably be better. I for onw wouldn't mid trying here again (though I like Peaberry's* as well)

The LaCrosse Board Game Group meets about weekly. Our guild page is http://www.boardgamegeek.com/guild/433 and our meetup is at http://boardgames.meetup.com/495/

Games played tonight:

* The coffee shop we usually meet at.

There was some pre-meeting talk of playing Thebes. Travis, Eric, Mandi and Mark went on an archeology expedition. I have played before but I don't know the meaning of the numbers in parenthesis.

Mandi (5) - 55
Mark (3/3/3/5 32) - 46
Travis (38) - 38
Eric (3/3) - 34

Although I played this game the night before and was reluctant to play again, eventually my resistance was wore down.

We couldn't figure out why there was only one occupation space when I know there is 2 for 3 or 4 players. Turns out the action space cards are two sided and I'm guessing I put the family game (which doesn't have occupations) side up (at least for the card that has occupation as an option). Sorry about that folks.

Amy was feeling a bit under the weather so Travis took over her spot. Courtney get the "most improved" prize getting a respectable score.

Jacquelene - 42 (she asked not be teased for winning)
Brian(me) - 28*
Courtney - 22
Dennis - 21 (1st time player)
Amy / Travis - 15 (two heads are more numerous than one)

* I succeded in getting 2 fields and at least one of everything else only losing points for empty spaces (3) so a minor personal victory.

After Thebes the players decided to deliver some German mail. I wasn't in the game but I think I heard Eric's dismay that you need to subtract unused "houses" at the end of the game.

Mark - 16
Mandi - 11
Eric - 5
