Babel, from the book Abbott's New Card Games, is a party trading game in which the players use frantic card swapping to form the best poker hands. It was designed to be played with more than 15 players and the author reports having great success with large groups.

Brouhaha is a game by Jean-Marc Pauly which interested us because of it's intergenerational nature, as well as the pleasant ambiance it generates around the table. The basis of the game is simple but highly effective: 42 Animal cards (21 pairs) and 4 Hunter cards are dealt out among the players. Each player then takes his cards into his hand without showing them to anyone else. Each player chooses a card and plays it face-down in front of himself. He then tries to mimic the cry of the animal on the card he has chosen, with the objective of finding its mate.

Ca$h 'n Gun$: Live is a sequel to Ca$h 'n Gun$, not an extension - although it does come with a bonus special power to extend its predecessor.

8 to 20 players plays in a public place where non-players are presents. When the referee uses the whistle, all players points their hands (as if they had a gun) towards another player...all this in a public place!

Of course, players are gangsters sharing a lot of money.

A little more of a wargame--OK, a lot more of a wargame!-- than the others so far. But it does play more than 15. I'm in an online game right now using Cyberboard that's got 43 players! And there are games run across the country which can hit 30-40 people, too!

Each player captains one ship. With someone to "Game Master" the details and keep things flowing, it's awesome!

HAGGLE is a thinking game for a large group of people. It can be played at a party or over the course of a full day.

One person serves as moderator, and devises a secret set of scoring rules and prepares a number of colored cards for use as scoring markers. The moderator starts the game by handing each player a sealed envelope containing a small number of colored cards and a couple of scoring rules such as "Orange cards are worth twice the value of blue cards" and "Each white card is worth 5 points unless the player turns in any black cards, in which case white cards are worthless." Players may trade cards and/or information in an attempt to acquire the most valuable hand of cards, all or some of which must be turned in to the moderator at a specified time. When the deadline passes, the moderator scores each player's cards based on all the scoring rules, and the highest score wins.

Game designer Christwart Conrad offers several annual gatherings where he presents some of his more than 20 tactical group games - one of them being "Kanzlerwahl". It plays easily with 15+ players and is one of quite a few of his designs which I adopted to play with my youth group. Too bad so few of his games show up on the geek. If you like playing with groups and don't mind games that can easily last for half a day and more, drop him a line: He sells them.

Although the BGG page says the Mfg suggested number of players is 2-10, that's not true. The manufacturer actually says it's for 2 to infinity players, but admits the game bogs down with over 10,000 players.

So you *could* play with 15 players, though it may actually bog down before that number is reached. I haven't tried.

The box I have says "2 - infinty" players. On BGG, it's listed as 2-20, but it's definitely feasible to play with more, since all the game entails is being able to see the board, as everything else happens in your head, as you mentally plot the quickest route to reach the target with the correctly coloured robot.

On the 3rd of August 2014, anniversary of the Battle of the Nile, the historical event has been played at Gabi’s Cards and Comics in Lacey, Washington, with 32 ships (even if by just 9 people - but they could have been actually more).

The actual record is 53 people at the same table, one ship each, at GenCon 2014 on the 14th of August.

As long as each player has a Driver deck and there's space on the table, you are good to go. I've hosted a 13-player race once, and I've used all my driver decks... If I had more, I'd break the 16+ players mark easily.

It's a shame it's OOP. Anyway, once a while some copies are sold on E-Bay.

The game says this can be played with up to 18 players, which seems like kind of an arbitrary number to me--in theory, it could be played with many more. I've played with as many as 16, and while it's a bit long with that number, it's certainly playable. This is the commercial version of Celebrities, with a great set of names provided by Peter Sarrett. My all-time favorite party game, although I usually like to limit it to 12 players.

Ultimate Werewolf is the ultimate party game for anywhere from 5 to 68 players of all ages. Each player has an agenda: as a villager, hunt down the werewolves; as a werewolf, convince the other villagers that you're innocent, while secretly dining on those same villagers each night. Dozens of special roles are available to help both the villagers and the werewolves achieve their goals while thwarting their opponents.

Werewolves of Miller's Hollow is a game that takes place in a small village which is haunted by werewolves. Each player is secretly assigned a role - Werewolf, Villager, or special character such as The Captain, The Hunter, the Witch, the Little Girl, The Seer and so on... There is also a Moderator player who controls the flow of the game. The game alternates between night and day phases. At night, the Werewolves secretly choose a Villager to kill. During the day, the Villager who was killed is revealed and is out of the game. The remaining Villagers (normal and special villagers alike) then deliberate and vote on a player they suspect is a Werewolf, helped (or hindered) by the clues the special characters add to the general deliberation. The chosen player is "lynched", reveals his/her role and is out of the game. Werewolf is a social game that requires no equipment to play, and can accommodate almost any large group of players.
