We played a rule wrong but it was fun the way we played it. Apparently you have to pay the amount of water squared intstead of the straight amount of water to mine.
I had a good group on the west side of the board and used two trains in the last round to great effect. Stewart put mines up for bid at about every chance he could making for a lot of mines on the board.
I ended up winning over Brian by 6 points out of about 200. The scores were fairly close.
After those two were complete some left and 5 people stayed and we were going to play Khronos but Brian couldn't find the rules. So we played this.
I played Railroad Tycoon the week before so it was neat to see the comparisson.
Brian was out to the early lead and we never really caught him. Aaron struggled through the whole game never really coming up for air. I was the same but in the last round I was finally positive and didn't end up too far behind. Bernie was in second with very few outstanding shares. Lori was close with a good network on the other side of the board.
After that everyone left except me and the host. So we broke out my latest addiction.
We got through about half a game before I had to leave.
I played Terra Khan (godzilla) and Brian played Gorghydra (the Giant Lobster). We got a taste of securing buildings and Gorghydra rampaged through some buildings for a lot of power dice. I was able to screen Terra Khan from power attack and got in some good brawls with super damage. Things were about to get interesting with the two monsters toe-to-toe in the middle but alas I had to leave.
I played a game of Zertz with Mike while I played Le Havre. I felt bad that we were about an hour in when Mike arrived and he didn't havre anyone to play with. It was tough to keep everything straight. Then ASLChampion Steve showed up and played with Mike so I could focus on my game of Le Havre.
