This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list. Note: Short list due to extending last week's list & to sync up with both New Year & end of week. Items found in 2008 belong here
These lists may start empty but as always: add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted games bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad™ and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.

I got a whole bunch of games on Trade Me, which is the New Zealand equivalent of e-bay. Normally you don't get many good deal, as most games go for 20+ dollars, however a friend of mine sent me an email about a lot of 9 games, which I managed to win for $47 new zealand dollars, about $30 USD. So each game averaged at around $3.33 or so. I managed to get
The Longest Day Russian Campaign Midway D-Day Flat Top Squad Leader Iron Cross - squad leader expansion Bismarck Airforce
Most were unpunched. Other than box damage I was pretty happy.
Here is a questin for you grognard thrifters. Should I keep The Longest Day or sell it?
Also are any of the others worth trying to sell? I know most are pretty common AH games, so I don't imagine they are worth much, I'm thinking of keeping Flat Top and maybe the longest day.
Went out goodwilling today and found a few things. First up is a Heroscape master set. $5 at my local GW. Open it up and there are no figures and no dice but everything else is in shrink. SCORE! This makes master set number 6 or 7 for me so I had no use for the figs or dice, but terrain is ALWAYS good to have. As a bonus this is the first set I own with the sparkly water tiles.
This last entry is sort of sad. I picked up a copy of Zeus on the Loose for 69 cents at goodwill, complete and in excellent shape. I already have a copy, but I was going to give this one to a friend. As I opened up the back door to the car to take my stuff inside, this slipped out of the bag and spilled open in the street. The windy conditions we are having today made it impossible to gather all the cards, the wet conditions in my driveway made the ones I could gather a sopping wet mess. So I just went ahead and pitched the whole damn thing! 69 cents down the drain, that's nearly a weeks salary!! Well not really, but still, I don't like throwing my money away like that.
$1.99 at Goodwill. Bought it for the tiles. I want to make a copy of Merchant of Venus and need about 300 tiles for it. Or I'm going to dye a few sets in different colors to make the GROGnads version of Scrabble. You get bonus points for being able to spell words in one color type.
