I played this game so many times in high school, and always had a soft spot in my heart for the mascot, the Ook, who valiantly tries to warn the crew of the danger they are bringing aboard the Znutar. In the expanded rules, he even gets his own Ook Soot! You can see the origin of the Ook in the comic included with the pdf rules at http://www.sjgames.com/awfulgreen/img/rules.pdf .

The Twonky is cursed. It knows exactly what's going on. It knows there is no escape, and it knows that telling the other robots will only make things worse. Twonkys frequently contemplate self-destruction, but refuse to give the computers the satisfaction.
Kinda how I feel about my addiction to board games - with the exeception of the self-destruction thingy...

Two castaways are getting ready to jump off their sinking island. One of them is smearing vaseline all over himself. The other one asks, "Why in tarnation are you doing that?" Mr. Vaseline replies, "There's sharks in them thar waters. I need all the speed I can get!" The second one laughs sadly, "I don't care how much goop you smear on yourself, you ain't out-swimming a friggin' shark!" Mr. Vaseline glares at him, "It ain't the shark that I need to out-swim..."

My Avatar is the Joker card from Frank's Zoo. You can see it in the top row in the picture I chose.
A chamelon can change his coloration to match his environment. In the game you can play the joker card with another card and the joker will change to match the card he's played with. Neat integration of theme and mechancis there, but it's sort of a joke.
I chose this as my Avatar because I love the game. It's on my list of top ten games of all time. Also, I love Doris's artwork (not just in this game, but in all the games she does).
I also like reptiles and lizards--I have two pet bearded dragons and three pet snakes. No chameleons, yet.

I really enjoy playing Tichu. In Tichu, I find that I am very good at assisting my partner (hence the dog). Oh, and if I'm not let outside, I tend to make a mess on the kitchen floor.

Mine is the Camel from Through the Desert. Why? Because I believe that Through the Desert is the Greatest Game Ever Designed™
Now this is not to say that this is my favorite game, but the fact is that the game is just the cleanest, most well designed, and most elegant game I can think of.

Mine is from Mammoth Hunters, because for some reason I have always liked the imagery of a Mammoth, and because I like close up shots of game pieces.
This shot is one that actually occurred at a convention, the first time I played Mammoth Hunters. You see, it is good to have a majority of players in a space with many mammoths. I was fooling around with my guys riding the mammoths, one of them with a club.
Of course, not knowing the game, immediatelly after that pic, _everyone_ raced into that space, and upon scoring, most of my guys died.

Ya know the icons on the sides of game boxes, where they list the number of players, playing time, and difficulty?
My icon is the "number of players" icon from the Power Grid box. The icon for minimum age is a picture discouraging one from sticking a finger in an electrical socket.
The same icons were used in the first edition of the game, listed in the Geek as Funkenschlag.
I think FF did the same thing for Finstere Flure, but I don't have the game...

Well, my current avatar is from neither of these two games, but I'll gift 2 GeekGold to the first person who guesses which game my 12(18)/-1 horse comes from!

I ran Magic Realm for many years at GenCon (mostly 87-97). After a few years I started to be called 'the Magic Realm guy' by people I didn't recognise from years prior.
Of all the MR counters I chose the tremendous troll for a BGG avatar because it most closely matched my BGG ID and email ID of wtrollkin (which in turn is a holdover from a troll character in a PBM game I played in the 90's called Adventurer's Guild)

Ricochet Robot was the first German game I actually played. It took a little while to really get it, but I love puzzles and I was hooked. It's still one of my favorite games... even if no one will play with me.
I took this picture because there wasn't a pic of the silver robot on the geek yet. I like it as an avatar because the robots are iconic to begin with, and the silver one is uncommon.

Clue FX - I have the image of Col. Mustard, perennial Clue character from the box. Though I greatly love the games I have found through the Geek, I will always have a soft spot for Clue. I'm quite fond of mysteries.
I also have a sub-collection of my collection trying to collect variations on Clue (not lame re-themings!). So I have Great Museum Caper, FX (this is my favorite version of Clue ever), the Card Game, etc etc.

It's the mighty Cthulhu chit from "Arkham Horror" - still one of my favorite games after all of these years. I mouse-brushed the '0' Movement off of it for aesthetic reasons. I'm not really sure why I chose It as my avatar...I think it came to me in a dream...All the kids say, "Ia, Cthulhu F'taghn!"

Scottish infantry block from Hammer of the Scots, but labelled with my own name.
There's no decent image of HotS's scottish infantry on BGG. This image has Etterick archers, Keith's cavalry and, obviously, the scottish king, Norse raiders and William Wallace. HotS is one of the best introductory wargames around, IMO. I've also got a chunk of scottish ancestory.
In the past, I've used the AUS unit from Paths of Glory. PoG is one of the best non-introductory wargames, IMO. And I'm Australian.

Mine is from St. Petersburg. Admiral, I think. It's to celebrate my latest 10-rating game. It's a wonderful game, and I like what Doris Matthäus has done with the art.
My earlier avatar was a skeleton cat from Dia de los Muertos.

I'd grown stale on Twister until a very special friend of mine introduced the costume variant. Now...we have regular sessions where we come masked (mine is the Sleestak) and people have to give a password at the door just to get in. It certainly is fun....although I'm not so much a fan of the caramel sauce.

My avatar is from the 125th anniversary edition of Avalon Hill's Gettysburg. I chose it because I have been a wargamer since 1961 (10 years old) when I bought by first wargames: Tactics II and Gettysburg. I now have multiple versions of Gettysburg. The chosen piece also has my name. The reason for the "reduced strength" side being chosen is because it highlights the name.

My image is from my homemade version of Traumfabrik. Instead of Reiner I put myself in the game as the -1 actor. The picture is me wearing a wig and acting like Mick Jagger.

My avatar is from the Mystery Rummy 4: Al Capone and the Chicago Underworld. I used to like the Mystery Rummy -series alot, but I made a mistake by playing them on a daily basis almost for a year. I've grown a little tired of anything rummy related.
Nevertheless, it's a fine chap on the picture, so I won't go changing my avatar Not just yet.

Dune Kitty really does love you, despite any asshattery.
Useless rollover, booya! Dune Kitty says, "deal with it."

Mine is actually from two games, BattleBall and Clue (the new edition with the plastic pieces). It features Col. Mustard and Professor Plum looking over a murdered Ms. Scarlet, trying to assess what might have did her in... little do they know...
Sadly, the BGG icons are too small to get the whole picture in, but it can be viewed here. http://www.midnightmadness.org/jeff/ljimages/battleballclue....
