Agricola - we get more play out of this than anything else, and it's still one of the games I request the most, and have requested the most.

Doubles Wild - a really good fit for us, and I'm not sure I'd be able to find a nice wood set with the pretty marbles again. The other wooden version I've seen isn't quite the same.

Cuba - this and Agricola are my two tens. The board and bits are beautiful, and it's a very satisfying game to play.

Tsuro - plays 2-8, is beautiful, and has been well received with everyone.

A deck of cards - we'd want to play Euchre, and possibly Pitch or 500 Rummy. Since I carry a deck in my purse, if it didn't count for having to grab it, I'd probably grab Pandemic.

An impossible decision!!! Can I count games that I store in the same box as one game????

1. Caylus - I actually store both editions in the premium edition box, so I'd be saving Mike Doyle's design + the beloved 2nd edition too!

2. Through the Ages: A Story of Civilization - a new favorite - the corrected 2nd printing of the 2nd edition (often referred to as the 3rd edition on BGG)

3. Yspahan - still my family's favorite with the best wood camels in the business!

I also have Siena in the same box, a very under appreciated game of which I am fond. If I save Yspahan, then I automatically save Siena at the same time!

4. A Castle for All Seasons - a new and under-rated game. It's what Pillars of the Earth should have been!

Ticket to Ride: Europe is also being stored with A Castle for All Seasons (I just don;t have room for new games unless I store them together in the same box!!!)

5. Helden in der Unterwelt - very hard to find game in the Return of the heroe series, and the best of the RotH lot! Very cool mechanics and theme!

Gloria Mundi is also stored with Helden in der Unterwelt!

So the extra choices are really only because they happened to be kept with the primary choices.

And I sure would looking over my shoulder at my many other beloved ones, such as Shadows over Camelot, Vinci, Antiquity, and even the unbiquitous Carcassonne, not to mention the newly acquired and untried ones such as Small World and Thurn and Taxis. And who knows which I would really pcik if something so terrible happened!

1 Puerto Rico... Gotta have it because it's the #1 rated game in the world right? Errr... well maybe not but it's good and I never get to play it so might as well grab it and try to convert some bingo players to play with me.... see its got Tobacco in it... bingo players love smoking.. ya that's the ticket.

2 Power Grid... another great one I never get to play enough. Gotta have a game with paper money to play with all the Monopoly folks.

3 Wallenstein... cuz it's awesome and big and I love awesome and big games. How could I possibly let that cool cube tower burn. Of course it's so cool that the fire would refuse to burn it and it would be left standing even after an atom bomb... such is the epic coolness of a Wallenstein CT.

4 El Grande - Another big bad epic original trail-blazing Euro game. Still the undisputed king of its genre. Another game I rarely get to play but get 5 people together and it's brilliant. Also couldn't stand seeing that bad artwork on the El Grande box getting burnt. Bad art should be treasured otherwise we'll never know what's good in comparison.

5 Twilight Struggle. Who doesn't like a little Cold War action to remind us of the good ole days. Those were the daaaaaaaaaays.

1. Agricola I considered making this my choice for 1-5 because I like it so much but in the spirit of the list I will select 5 different games. Of course this will include all the custom clay pieces and family members we made for this game!

2. Dominion This is one of my new favorites and I love the variety of the cards! The addition of the new expansions also helps keeps things fresh and exciting!

3. Jambo This is a small game but has some nostalgia for me as the first game that I played over and over again.

4. Ys This is a game that I just can NOT win! I would have to take it just to continue the torment....

5. Carcassonne Another expansion could not fit into our box...it is ALL of them except The Tower. (yes even the Catapult!) I just love it!

These choices are based on the assumption that (especially where they are inextricably mixed) expansions are being saved along with the games. The choices may change under different circumstances.

1: Blue Moon City

I really have to think of others before myself. Of all the games in the house, I think this one would be the most appreciated by all of us. I like the game as well. Not as much as some, but enough. Also I have heard it is soon going to be unavailable and so it would be a shame if I could not replace it.

2: Talisman

And now it's time to be selfish. This is mostly for nostalgia, but i've got every expansion (2 of most) and a whole bunch of memories invested in it. It would be totally irreplaceable (or way to expensive to replace) if lost in a fire. Plus I do enjoy the game, so i will occasionally play it.

3: PitchCar with PitchCar Extension

While not the game I have spent the most money on, Pitchcar is the most i've ever spent on a single game (and the extension is the most i've spent on an expansion). I do not begrudge the expense, but i'll be damned if i'm just gonna let it burn up either.

4:duck! duck! Go!

Emotional value. This is my daughters game. When she was installed as Worthy Adviser of her Rainbow assembly her mascot was rubber ducky. So as a present I got her duck duck go to match the theme. It's silly and emotional, but ya know it does have a certain attahcment.

5:Heroscape Master Set: Rise of the Valkyrie

This is a must save. But not because I'm at all attached to it. (although I do anticipate being able to play with grandchildren) This is my practical pick. I have 2 of the main game and all the big (terrain) expansions 1 of the 2nd main game (Heroscape Master Set: Swarm of the Marro) 1 of the Marvel superheros game. at least 1 and in most cases two (and a couple 3) of all the small hero packs. I pull this out to use as seed. I sell and or trade it to get back some of the more available games I lost. Or, perhaps games I am more interested in than the ones I let burn. Either way it's both valuable (to some) and expendable so its perfect to finance the regrowth.

Only 5?

Twilight Struggle - should come as a surprise to nobody.

Combat Commander: Europe - and all the expansions since they're all in the same box (CC:M, and both battle packs. Plus Normandy when it gets here).

Go - I have a pretty decent set and I've never seen bowls like mine anywhere:

EastFront II - ok, by technicality it would be EuroFront II because then I would get EastFront II and WestFront II as well.

Ticket to Ride: Europe - although Carcassonne: The City might be closer to hand...

I'm new to the boardgaming world, so my collection isn't anything special, but I still have some games I'd want to save over others:

Pandemic- I love the challenge of this game, and the fact that I can play solo when no one else happens to be around. One of my favorite games that I'm always willing--and wanting--to play.

El Grande - I have high hopes for this game, and with all the expansions (Decennial Edition), I expect it to last quite some time.

La Città - Like El Grande, I have high expectations.

Tsuro - Fast and fun, and lots of different people can enjoy this game.

Warhammer - I don't see how I could remove all of my WHFB stuff in a timely manner, but I would definitely try!

Well, if we're playing the scenario where I have time to sit down and carefully consider it, my 5 would be:

- Agricola: Scales well, lots of replay value, my wife and I love it.
- Last Night on Earth: Another one that scales well. I like the choices in different characters and scenarios. Lots of dice.
- Settlers of Catan: It's a classic, my gateway game, and still fun. I'm a sucker for nostalgia.
- Carcassonne Hunters and Gatherers: This one is new for us, but I think it may be my favorite Carcassonne. GREAT for 2 players.
- Dominion: Short, quick game, loads of replay value.

Now, if we're talking about an actual disaster scenario where, say, I'm making one last trip into my burning house after saving family members, pets and other sentimentals it would look a little different. Mainly because in that scenario, I probably won't be browsing my games carefully considering which ones to bring. I'm probably going to grab a single stack and run. This means, since they're stacked together I'd end up with:

- Agricola (hopefully the plano box of bits doesn't slide off the top when I grab the stack)
- Pandemic
- Le Havre
- Stone Age

I'd save 18AL because I made it myself and it took a fair amount of time.
I'd save Flinch because it's an antique and a gift from my mother.
I'd save Up Front because it's out of print and difficult to replace.
I'd save Magic: The Gathering because I'd feel like a chump for letting my Black Lotus get destroyed.
I'd save Sticheln to maximize my options of games to play, during my unknown waiting time to replace everything else.

I'll keep these:

1) Strat-O-Matic basketball (and all of the seasons of cards)
2) We the People - As much as work of art as a boardgame.
3) Revolt on Antares - I love this quirky TSR pocket game.
4) City States of Arklyrell - Another quirky pocket game (Task Force). Hard to find on EBay, so I'll hold the one I have.
5) Battlestar Galactica - maybe someday I'll get to play a game
