Well, first it was Hasbro with their whole Express Line of Games which even snagged my wife who purchased Sorry! Express which I assembled for the family and promptly lost somewhere in my game closet. [Darn thing was too small and too misshapen -- doesn't fit as a bookshelf game, doesn't sit nicely on top of Monopoly or The Farming Game, and rolls around in the closet. Hopefully, it will show up some day.]

Anyway, Felbrigg Herriot took the concept to a new level with Dune Express which has sparked much interest with other BGGers getting on board with new graphics and maps and dice and Artscow options. Very cool.

But what's next in the Express series of games? I can certainly think of a number of games that are too big and too long to play all the time, but I still need my game fix. So, here are my modest proposals for other games that need the Express Treatment!

[Note: Obviously, this is tongue in cheek, but I'm also serious here. Feel free to add your nominees.]

DOH!

An obvious first choice for the Express Line diet. Heck, I'm guessing we could play a game of Express War of the Ring in the same amount of time it takes to set up the Fantasy Flight version. You could roll dice for Orc, Dwarves, Elves, etc, and devote rolls to getting Frodo to Mount Doom. And I'm all for a playable map of Middle Earth that fits on an Artscow mouse pad!

Of course. So, maybe we'll have to reduce the map to just Asia, but that'll probably be enough. But being able to play Axis & Allies on an in-flight tray table would just be too cool for words.

At first, I thought this would be a good one to propose for a "funny" Geeklist, and then I started thinking how cool the real thing could be. Might just be a two-player (Catholic vs. Protestant) game with French, English, Ottoman, and Hapsburg being other dice sides to be used by the players. Hum . . .

I'd love to play this game, but I just don't have the lifestyle that allows it. Maybe an Express version is what I need.

This one just hasn't made it to the table and I've had it for 3 years... maybe close to 4.
