You can talk about multi-trades if you want but I'm really most interested in that one game-for-game trade combo that you really judge as your best.

I've become somewhat addicted to trading games and BGG sure makes it convenient and easy with it's great community. Sure I'm spending way too much money for shipping but with the great trade system here, I'm able to try out a game and trade it away if we don't like it.

So, let's talk about those hot trades!

My best trade, by far, has been trading my copy of Agricola for Goa.

My wife and I really liked (like) Agricola but she got a little overwhelmed by the urgency to get everything done and never having enough time to do it. Basically, the game stressed her out.

I've had my eye on GOA since I first joined BGG. Of course being OOP made it even more desirable in my mind. If it's a game I can't easily get, I want it more.

Anyhow, I made a straight up trade for GOA/Agricola and could not be happier. We've played it now about 6 times and it just keeps getting better. We love the pace of the game, the different choices, the auction works well with 2, and we usually have some very close games. This game is easily in our top 3.

I may end up owning Agricola again in the future but for the time being, I'm very happy with the outcome of this trade.

This has become a favorite game in our household and plays equally well with 2, 3, or 4, since the key mechanism (time) is adjusted for the number of players. I also love the asynchronous nature of the play, partly because it's a clever and novel, and partly because it forces some tough decisions about how to time your expeditions.

Anyways, I got Thebes along with a copy of Animal Upon Animal (which is a family favorite) and Field Commander: Rommel (later traded for Perikles) in exchange for my copy of Triumph of Chaos (and the Triumph of Chaos Comrades Guide).

I've had some really good trades and some OK ones. Here are some of my better ones.

I traded a spare copy of Cosmic Eidex and a copy of Friedrich that I had picked up in a trade, for Star Wars: The Queen's Gambit. I'd like to get a copy of Friedrich back at some point, though.

Traded a 2nd copy of Traumfabrik that I got when I was in Europe for under $30 for Age of Steam Expansion #1 - England & Ireland & The Princes of Florence.

I once threw in about 30 packs of Bang! High Noon into a large German order, and I sold or traded away all of them. One of the best trades was for a Hill Giant figure which I sold for about $65 on ebay.

When Indonesia came out, I ordered about 6-7 of them from Germany for a good price and sold or traded most of them. Some of the better trades:

- Gunslinger & Showmanager
- Dune (Descartes) & Funkenschlag (original version)
- Friedrich (yes the one I later traded away), Princes of the Renaissance & Struggle of Empires
- added 2038 as a sweetener and got The Princes of Florence & Reef Encounter (R&D version)

I bought Space Hulk and the 2 expansions on ebay once for under $100 total and traded the Deathwing Expansion for We the People straight up. I sold one of them for over $100, and I forget if I sold the other or traded it, but I ended up making money and getting We the People for free out of the deal.

I got Frag and Frag Death Match as sweeteners in a trade, and then re-traded them along with buying a copy of A Game of Thrones online for someone in exchange for Star Wars: Epic Duels.

I picked up Medieval Merchant in a FLGS for about $15 (along with about 20 other games that had been sitting on the shelf for years, so they heavily discounted all of them...they didn't know what they had) and traded it along with a spare copy of Cosmic Eidex for Big City and Duel of Ages Set 2.

I got La Città RGG (when it was OOP) for the 1st edition wooden Hive (didn't like it) and knizia's Samurai (also got at that FLGS for about $15).

Traded The Pillars of the Earth (which I had picked up in a math trade and wasn't really interested in) for Europe Engulfed straight up.

I picked up about 6-7 copies of Shogun for about $37 each. Sold and traded all but 1. Here are some of the trades:

- Agricola w/ animeeples
- Twilight Struggle and met up with the guy in person and played a game of it together.
- Ambush w/ Purple Heart.
- along with Coloretto as a sweetener, for Africa (knizia), Dry Gulch and Stock Car Championship Racing Card Game.

Traded Ys+ for Web of Power.

Traded Atlantic Star for Fresh Fish.

Traded Crossbows and Catapults (picked up for $2 at a thrift) and Wooden Ships & Iron Men for Mississippi Queen & The Black Rose expansion.

Probably my best was trading a thrifted Man O'War for Martin Wallace's Princes of the Renaissance. I only paid $3 for Man O'War

Other notables would be getting (also Wallace) Empires of the Ancient World for a Tanga'd Year of the Dragon. And also getting San Marco for Ingenious.

Have to say those are the top 3.

This is tough. See, I have wanted this game (Dibs) for years and finally got it and only had to give up a copy of The Sorcerer's Cave which I had never played. In fact, I had never really inspected it to find out what great shape it was in. So, I finally got a holy grail, but haven't had a chance to play it yet.

Of games I've actually played, it would have to be getting rid of my copy of Balmy Balloonists and picking up Sixmix. Now, Sixmix is surely no great game, but it far outpaced Balmy Balloonists. And since BB is sought after by collectors, it was a win-win. Great trade.

Traded away - Outpost

This is a game set on the moon (yeah, like we're ever going to visit there!) with a board that is totally in black and white. The components are pretty bad, and the gameplay is pretty complicated.

Got in return - Monopoly - Scooby-Doo! Fright Fest!

Not only is this the best game of all time about one of the greatest detectives of all time (and he's a dog, no less!), it was signed by the 'Doo himself!
