Totally (well - almost totally) 'original' games

Most of the games we buy are inevitably derivitive to a greater or lesser degree. But from time to time there appears a game that is so very original that one wonders just how the designer came to think it up. Three such games immediately come to mind and other gamerss will think of others to add to the list.Recommend
MONAD This is a golden oldie. But whereas most cardgames are based either on generally well-known gaming principles (trick-taking, etc.) or, nowadays, an existing boardgames, Sid Sackson's MONAD was completely original.
FALSCHE FUFFZIGER I was gobsmacked by this game. Here was a game by what was then an unknown designer - Friedemann Friese - that was played on no less than three interlocking levels (forged money, real money, and silver coins) How he ever started thinking about such a game amazed me.
CONFUCIUS This comes much closer to the present. There is almost nothing in Alan Paull's game that seems to relate to any other. What is more it is totally true to its theme. I really must ask what got him started on it.
