I came across some old PBM zines during a cleanout.. Diplomacy zines. and I got to thinking what SF games might be suitable for paper zine/webzine based play as opposed to FTF/Vassal/Cyberboard.

Railgames and diplomacy and things like En Garde work well, but I got to thinking about SF specifically.. boardgames and campaign systems both..

I've seen Outpost played as well as liftoff and roborally,,

I've often thought Imperium, Fifth Frontier War, Trillion Credit Squadron, Cosmic encounter and maybe merchant of venus might work.

What are the thoughts and experiences of the Boardgamegeek hivemind?

Here is a candidate. It's a fun game, not too long, with good Sci-Fi theme integration. Asymmetrical force capabilities increase interest. I believe that it could easily be played by e-mail with relatively few modifications. If you want to give it a try, let me know, and I'll try to trade for a copy!
