A triple whammy of a list combining all the gaming action, action, action from three spectacular nights, nights, nights.

Not a huge amount of games got played over these three weeks but a lot of fun was had.

I've been a bit lax with putting up this list due to a holiday and an impromptu meeting occuring but here it is.

We are a small games group in the beautiful beachside suburb of Browns Bay, Auckland.
This is the 6th "games played" list of our group.

Players: Alyona, Garth, Zirk, Anaise, Silja, Patrick

Not sure if this was the only game played this week as I was away on holiday. I think everyone enjoyed it as they were talking about it when I returned. Seems like it was quite a long game with lots of early expansion by Zirk whilst Garth was trying to build up tech and monuments.

I know it's a while ago but if anyone has anything to say now is your time...

In which sherrif Zirk danced in a hail a bullets from the Outlaw Alistair and then was finished off by Anaise. Fast game, always fun.

It really seems that Zirk has become Auckland's prophet of this quirky and unusual game. I am a convert for sure and I think he is also winning followers in the Mt Albert games group in Auckland City.

Winner: Alyona (on the night)

Players: Garth, Partick, Anaise, Alistair, Silja

Only Garth had played before so I took on the role of explaining the rules.
Everyone picked up what to do quite fast and the game took off with Garth and Silja being drawn to the grail, Anaise had issues with a black knight, Alistair and Patrick stopped the Picts invading from the North. Unfortunately the grail quest did not go well and fell into a stalemate of dispair.
Silja started acting a bit suspicious and was accused by Patrick. WRONG she was loyal but just had a problem with taking a few hits for the team ( Co-operative game! Come on! ) There was a bit of shouting and finger pointing.
Everyone agreed that there probably wasn't a traitor.
Patrick and Garth both ended up dead and the game ended with four white swords, six black and a whole heap of (well, twelve) seige engines assaulting fair camelot.
....
...
..
.
Cue the Backstab... Garth turns over his loyal card and is the traitor!

"Know those grails you all needed?... Bottom of the lake devil"

Winner: Garth 'Traitor' Manson

Patrick and I also had another go at this on the same night we played Antike.

I was the Allies, but botched my attacks to the extent that the French had a fairly early victory without bringing on their reserves.

It was clear that quite apart from generally being a bear of little brain, I was severely hampered by a lack of understanding of the rules. Like don't do losing attacks with corps - you'll only get them disorganised and useless. And a two-strength infantry in an approach is all but unbeatable, except by three-strength cavalry or a guards unit. You have to wear them down first. And so on.

Still, I enjoyed it enough to vow to play again.
