The Virtual Game Collection Game
- Tony Ackroyd(1000rpm)United Kingdom
You need to tip 2 to the geeklist header.
100% of the entry fees will shared as follows:
How to Play:
Your entrance fee buys you $100 virtual dollars. You'll use this money to bid on games that will go into your Virtual Game Collection.
There are 7 different categories of games. You will choose 1 game from your Virtual Collection to enter into each of 7 different categories. You can enter a different game for each category, or you can use the same game for multiple categories. The 7 different categories are:
Once everyone has their collection finalized I will create a poll for each of the 7 categories so that BGG members can decide on the best games. The player with the best overall Virtual Game Closet will be declared the winner! That player wins the top prize and gets a free pass to gloat relentlessly for the remainder of the month.
How the Bidding Works:
You can bid on any entry in the geeklist. Bid by adding a comment to the entry with your $bid. Games do not have minimum bid values.
You can add games (not expansions) to the geeklist at any time. You do not need to bid on a game you add to the geeklist.
Your current bids at any time must be $100 or less. Once someone bids higher than you on a game, that bid replaces yours as the 'high' bid, freeing up that money for you to bid on something else. You can re-bid immediately on games if you have been outbid.
Bids cannot be withdrawn. Money not spent will be used as a tie-breaker for the poll phase.
If at any time you realize have bid more than $100 you should cease bidding immediately. You will now have to hope that someone bids more than you on one of your bids. If this does not happen before the bidding is completed you will be disqualified.
The bidding will end at 10am BGG time on Thursday. Whoever has the highest bid on each game at that time will own them. Any bids placed after the 10am finish time will not be valid.
You can still get games after the bidding has closed! First, send me a geekmail listing the games you own from the bidding. Below those games, add a list of games that have not yet been bid upon. Your purchased games + the FREE games may not surpass 7 games. If you are the first person to ask for these games, you will get them for FREE!
I will process the geekmails in order of receipt. If you select a FREE game that someone else has already picked, I will reply telling you which game you didn't get and you can select another.
Once everyone has finalized their Virtual Game Collection, you will send another geekmail allocating 1 of your games into each of the 7 categories. It is ok to enter the same game into multiple categories.
Once all game selections are finalized, I will set up the scoring stage of the game. I will not divulge exactly how the scoring will work, but you can expect that the better games in each category will score more. This will be based on polls where BGG users will select the best games in each category from those in the collections.
This game is a follow up of another game in a geeklist, the For Sale Geeklist Game and as a continuing warm-up for Fantasy GeekBall Season 2
