I have never played this game but would like to try it once. I grew up during the Cold War and the different events influenced all of our lives. Could someone tell us about Hungary in the game? If Hungary has any role in the game.

Bitter End is an operational-level simulation of the German attempts to relieve the encircled Hungarian capital of Budapest, besieged by Soviet forces, in January 1945.

By January of 1945 Nazi Germany_s military fate was sealed. There was nothing the German forces in Hungary could have achieved that could have substantially delayed or even mitigated this defeat. That did not deter the German attempt to relieve Budapest. Hitler_s goal in ordering the attack toward Budapest was not the rescue of its garrison, but rather the recapture and retention of the city. The garrison was in fact ordered not to break out but instead to hold and await relief. Few commanders on the German side took the idea of the retention of Budapest seriously, however. Had the relieving German forces gotten to within a few miles of the city, a breakout attempt would probably have been made. Bitter End lets the players explore the tantalizing possibilities. In addition, players may test their skills with several viable historical alternatives, such as the inclusion of forces that could have been available to the respective commanders.

Can you as the commander do better than your historical counterpart?

In this game players start with a secret mission to conquer certain areas (counties of the medieval Hungary). When a territory is attacked, a type of question is randomly chosen. A third player describes a phrase verbal, pantomimic or by drawing, or asks a trivia question about history, art or science. The first of the two opponents to answer wins the battle. The first player who conquers all the areas on his/her mission card wins the game.
The board shows the old bigger Hungary before WW2.

A strategic-historical game for children above 10. This is a stop-gap game in the sense that is provides exciting passtime activity for children above ten and even adults. The point is that the game enables you to re-play four campaigns of the 16th century /they took place actually/ with a relatively high degree of faithfulness to reality. This game is not the usual simple one you play with dice, it requires brains, tactics and good strategic ideas. If there are two players, one is the commander-in-chief of the Turkish army the other one is that of the Hungarian one. They take steps on the battlefield /the table/ which is authentic both historically and geographically.
While stepping forward - in line with their strategic ideas - they fight each other, protect or storm fortresses. In case of more players the countries may be divided among them, e.g. the players can be commanders of a Northern Hungarian castle or that of a Transdanubian fortress respectively...()

There is a Hungary card in the game. Medieval is a card-based board game that takes players back to the turbulent 13th century in Europe, Middle East and North Africa. The cards not only represent the Powers, various capabilities, and events that the players use to gain victory, but they also provide the playing board, a map that is divided into 19 Cards, only 8 of which start the game in play. The rest of the Map Cards - and the map - come into play randomly, but at the players' pace.

The first Hungarian boardgame that features heroes and creatures from Hungarian folklore. The board is filled with typical objects, people, animals, plants, trees and flowers from Hungarian folklore.
The game consists of more than one game. There is one for three year olds and there is a higher level game for older children.
The game comes with a beautiful board, cards and a detailed booklet explaining the two different games.

The title is very clever as it contains a common phrase with which many of our folk tales begin. The title means I am going to see the world through the wandering road of the Hungarian folktales.

This is an educational boardgame about the capital of Hungary.
Do you like wandering around Budapest? Do you like admiring the historical buildings of the capital city and stroll around the Castle district and the Danube? Do you know what animals decorate the Chain Bridge and on which island you can find the Music Well?
In the game a curious child asks you such questions.
This is a fun racing game. The aim of the game is to get to the Chain Bridge first. You choose a little car. You roll the dice and if you drive on a green area you can help the curios tourist by giving the correct answer. What is more, you can drive on! Take over your siblings and be the first to get to the beautiful Chain Bridge!

The Hungarian title translates as Great monarchs of Transylvania (Erdély). The board is a map of Erdély. There are ten or eleven tiles belonging to each of eight monarchs of Erdély. These tiles are put on the board at the beginning of the game, next to cities which played important role in the life of the monarch.
The pawns are moved in any direction, but according to dice rolls. Whenever a pawn is put an a place with one or more tiles, the player gets one of those tiles of his/her choice. Players can trade the tiles any time. The goal is to collest all the tiles belonging to one, two or three monarch, depending on the number of players.

Vilajet is a Hungarian game about the Turkish-Hungarian Wars set in the medieval times. Unfortunately it is only Hungarian language, but easily translated into English.
The game map represents about 100x100 km territory near Lake Balaton, and shows little villages, towns and cities. In those times between these two countries there at peace, but there were a lot of border disputes which eventually caused a battle to be fought. Those are simulated in this game.
The players should build armies in their castles, improve their current defenses and collect taxes from villages, while trying to work against the enemy opponent.

In this cheerfully demented offering, participants each play the part of a disease trying to inflict misery on the European populace. Each disease has mortality (lethalness) and virulence (contagiousness) factors, and the key to causing maximum suffering is striking the right balance between the two. It's no good being a fast-acting disease if your carriers all die before passing you on to the next city!

The board shows Budapest, the capital of Hungary.A beautiful city if not ruined by plague!

A Hungarian boardgame inspired by Monopoly but based on Hungarian life after the time when Hungary switched over from communism to capitalism. The game holds an ironic mirror to Hungarian politics and every day life.
The different money items feature politicians. The gameplay is very similar to Monopoly.

In this game, players have ships (and can buy bigger and bigger ships) and set sail from Budapest for traveling around the world, buying and selling materials and products (from coffee to cars...), hopefully for a bigger price than the price they bought it for. But they use dice for determining moves so it is possible that they will not land in the harbor they wanted to...

This is an old Hungarian Monopoly-type game. There are only six properties where you can build a house (3 rooms step by step), but you can build a weekend house on a different kind of property, you can buy a car and saving bonds. The first player to get all of these wins. If you play this game you can get a sense of the so called gulyas communism that is the years of the communist era.

Players have 3 pawns that they move (after rolling the dice) on the map of Budapest that shows the streets, museums, monuments, cinemas, theatres, libraries, 'discotheque's of the Capital of Hungary. Whenever a pawn arrives at a place (a section of a road) containing one of these they have to answer some questions in the given topic. They get points for good answers; the first to collect 100 points wins.
The most interesting categories are 'disco' as it shows the then-stars of the '70s and '80s and 'cinema' as you need a copy of the program magazine for cinemas. You also have 'chance' cards and 'pig in a poke' cards - in the latter you find a question that you should answer - or get minus 1 point.
