A geeklist recounting the games of our gaming group in Oxford Ohio.

Gamers: Me, Scott, Karl, and Fazeel
A great night of drinking (for some) and games (for all). Nothing too heavy tonight, though. Runewars almost made it to the table, but it's a game you want to start with earlier in the night. So mostly, we just saw the return of some classic favorites for our group.

Scott brought Settlers over and since I didn't have any thing in mind to play, we got to play this first. Weird board set up as many numbers were right next to each other (both 8s, both 6s, both 10s, and both 5s were adjacent). Scott and Fazeel showed off their expert Catan skillz, but Karl was able to smoke us all with his corner market on the number 5. I did okay, with 5 settlements, but ended the game with only 7 pts (with a victory pt from development).

We contemplated pulling Runewars out, but it was already 9:30 and we weren't all ready for a 3 hr, relatively complex game. This was a victory for Scott. He managed to pull the Ball Room with the Light House, but I stole it from him (along with other high price districts I could never build). I got the Ball Room out, but everyone was still on the ball and nobody forgot the "Thanks, your excellency". Assassinations were pretty evenly distributed across the board. Scott won with 31 pts. Karl was a close second. Fazeel and I were last with 17 and 16pts.

The only game I won. Karl was rock, I was paper. A somewhat slightly controversial win, as I kinda changed from a fist to a paper on the third smack. My defense is I always play on 1-2-3-go! and Karl always plays on 1-2-3. Plus, I was getting much more tipsy by this point.

Anyway, my victory ensured another round of citadels.

Fazeel got a serious beating this game. He was assassinated multiple times, robbed, and had his turn denied by the despotic Scott for not saying "Thanks, your excellency." (Which I forgot to do as well). Scores were much higher this time. Karl won with a score in the 30s I believe. I was second or third with 31 points (I think second behind Scott).

It was midnight, but we couldn't pass up a round of Bohnanza. Karl was in his element with Krazy trades and deals. LOTS of "for freeeeee" cards getting thrown around. Fazeel was the "quiet one" this game...and you should always watch for the quiet one (it was also his first time playing). I was quite hammered by this time, so I really didn't care if I won or loss. Lots of smack talk going around though. In the end, Fazeel took the victory with Scott "I've won with the third bean field before" dead last. At that point it was about 1:30am and time to stumble off to bed.
