65 people got this correct (55%), which was a little lower than I expected. The biggest clue here is the general shape, which looks a bit like Africa. Those familiar with the game will recognize the general color scheme, and should be able to guess which nodes represent DRC and Sudan.

The winner of the 1gg drawing for this item is PhilDall.

105 people got this correct (89%). This one was meant to be an easy one, since it looks almost exactly like the original board. I mainly did it because I thought it would look cool. One entrant questioned not having each node connected to all of its neighbors. My rationale was that even though sea and land spaces are shown as being "connected" on the board, they don't really interact with each other, only with the city spaces. I also left off some of the outer sea spaces, which aren't adjacent to city spaces. This is a little harder to defend, since it is legal (though questionable) to place ships in those spaces, but since they would not have been connected to the rest of the graph, I threw them out.

The winner of the 1gg drawing for this item is themightyhump.

84 people got this correct (71%). I was really surprised this wasn't higher. I guess I thought maps of the London Underground were more widely known (or that this looks more like such a map than it really does). That was the big clue on this one. Those familiar with the game will also recognize the colors of the nodes, but it might take a little while to realize that multiple connections between stations are denoted by weights on the edges.

114 people got this correct (97%). Another one I knew would be easy, but I don't think I realized it would be quite this easy. Also one of the first graphs I did for this contest. The hint here is, of course, the six colored areas. Also, the connection between the top left and top right of the graph, and that group of four purple nodes in the lower right corner, just perfect for turtling in.

73 people got this correct (62%). I wanted to have at least one graph with directed edges, and this one was perfect. The arrows also serve as one of the clues for this one, as does the small number of nodes.

Incidentally, all of the people who suggested that there were errors in some of the graphs nonetheless managed to get the right answers. When I mentioned that "In at least one case, the map referenced was not the same one represented by the graph," the person had correctly guessed that the game was Hansa, but said the graph was missing some arrows. I suspect they were referring to a different board for Hansa (Changing Winds?) -- the graph is correct for the original board.

93 people got this correct (79%). The yellow, green, and red connections are probably the biggest clue, though one person said they figured it out from the blue connections (the ferry route on the Thames).

This graph is the reason I didn't post this contest about a year ago. I had done about half of the graphs, and started working on this one, but it got to be such a big task, I had to put it aside for awhile. One thing led to another, and it was a year before I got back to it.

68 people got this correct (58%). One of the last ones I did, and I was starting to get a little lazy. I literally drew the graph on top of a picture of the board, then added the sea zones and removed the picture. Aside from moving a few nodes around to make things a little clearer, the graph is almost an exact replica of the board, without the actual map artwork. If you've played the game, or if you got lucky enough to stumble across a picture of the map, you probably got this one. If you're at least familiar with GMT Games, you probably narrowed it down somewhat.

The most popular incorrect answer for this one was Diplomacy, which is not a bad guess, but obviously doesn't line up exactly. Most people seemed to catch on that it was a map of Europe.

90 people got this correct (76%). The labels on the nodes are the big tip-off for this one. Quite a few people noted that the castillo was missing. It seems to me there are two ways to look at the castillo, either as a region which is connected to every other region (because it's always adjacent to the king's region), which makes for a very messy graph, or as a separate concept in the game, which is not part of the graph. I chose to go with the second interpretation.

38 people got this right (32%). The rest of you skipped directly to this item to see what it was. There was no contest with this for the hardest question. Most likely because it's a lesser known title (despite being just inside the top 50), and unless you've played it, it's going to be pretty hard to identify. The clues here are the black and red edges, which map directly to black and red borders on the map, similarly for the dashed edges at the bottom of the graph, and the †'s, which represent cathedrals.

The winner of the 1gg drawing for this item is ruggedscooter.

109 people got this correct (92%), which was a bit higher than I expected, given that I didn't make much effort to keep the original shape of the map intact. I guess it just goes to show how widely known TTR is around here and how familiar you all are with the board. The clues here are the colors and the double connections.
