I'm merely keeping the seat warm.

Taking part is easy:

1) Add the game of the miniature you painted as an item to the list.

2) Add the picture of your painted miniature in the comment section for that game.

(use the format [imageid=xxxxxmedium] where xxxxx is the id of the picture)

That way people will be able to better judge your work. Medium should be sufficient please do not use large.

Rules:

1) The image you submit must be from February 2010. The contest will end on March 31st.

2) You are the artist. Do not submit miniatures painted by someone else.

3) One entry per person. You may, however, use up to two pictures of your entry to the front and back of the miniature.

4) The winner will be the picture with the most thumbs. You can thumb as many as you like.

Prizes:

Unfortunateley I'm reliant on tips to offer decent prizes at the moment as I don't have a huge amount of geekgold.

Any tips received will awarded as follows:

1st place: 50%
2nd place: 37.5%
3rd place: 12.5%

So if the tip total comes to 40 geekgold 1st will get 20, 2nd 15 and 3rd 5 etc.

I'll round down tips and put the remainder towards future prizes.

Judging at the end of the month and winners will appear in the next months list.

1st place will now also receive an exclusive microbadge! mb

Please give this geeklist a thumb to help get it to the front page. The more contestants the better!

And don't forget to click on the images you like and give the actual images thumbs up as well!

The images will be arranged alphabetically by the name of the game entry.

There is also a geeklist for the Best Painted Miniatures of 2009. Please take the time to share what you think is the best.

I'm still a new painter, but I've been starting to figure out the "tricks of the trade", and have been having fun painting the very cool mythological creatures from this fantastic game. Here is the one I'll enter for the contest:

And here are the other 2 I've completed so far:

Thanks so much for stepping in to keep this contest alive!!

They explained everything in detail and at great length. After they finished I sat, despondent, contemplating a bleak and empty future. "I’m glad you’re depressed" said one. "It means you’ve understood the situation.”

Here are a couple of gladiator models I finally got around to finishing thanks to this geeklist - Roman Gladiators

The miniatures are from Steve Barber models and were painted with Vallajo and Foundry (acrylic) paints.

My Brettonian Paladin- yes it's the second brettonian in two months but I haven't done much painting recently. I plan to get round to my space hulk minis soon.
Apologies to those who find the second photo a little blurry.

This Space Marine is the first one (first SM, not first mini) I ever touched with a brush. Took me a few weeks to paint it... Although I never worked longer than 1 or 2 hours a day.
The chrome cross on his left shoulder and the lettering were pretty challenging but I'm pleased with the result.
I was afraid my NMM got a little rusty so I used metallics here and there. I used NMM though on the ring of the hammer. Should have used it on the shield as well...

Ow, and I changed his name... It's no longer Gideon now. I couldn't resist writing my own nickname on his chest whistle

I painted all the CitOW minis starting early January, and got them done in February. I like the Nurgle ones best, so I'll enter these:

The other gods had their minis painted as well of course.

I did meanwhile add a dot in the chaos god's colors in the middle of the chaos symbol, and shined up a bit or two with gloss varnish (intestines, tongues, etc.) - but if I were to take a picture with the changes now, it wouldn't be from February anymore
