Last month I thought it would be fun to see some of the interesting fresh content on BGG that I might have missed. Although this geeklist had only 9 items it was indeed useful for me.
As this month I had even less time to check all the fresh content at BGG I decided to create this 'sequel'. Below you can see the original header of the geeklist.
--------------------------------------

I don’t want to create another version of Grimwold’s geeklists; it’s only the title that plays with the title of his wonderful series.

I like browsing the BGG but time after time I find I missed some fine content. So this list is for showcasing what you have added to BGG this month, so I won't overlook them (and maybe nor will others). It can be anything: a game (added to the database); a geeklist or a geeklist item (maybe to Grimwold's list ) or only a geeklist comment; can be a picture or thread or reply, a file or a geekquestion; something you are really proud of or just happy to have added. Maybe it got the attention it deserves, maybe it didn’t, it doesn't matter – just look at your best contributions and list them here.

Only one entry per user, please, and in one entry list a maximum of 3 contributions (your favorite 3 contributions) in order not to make the list a long list of each user’s ALL contributions this month. Thank you!

1. The only thing that I think is noteworthy is this geeklist. It's also nothing new; it's just something I didn't have time for in the two months after we had that gaming party with these wonderful friends of ours. Lots of pics, much less text.

2. I've been browsing my PC before it broke and I found lots of pictures about playing board games, even from the time when I wasn't a geek yet. I uploaded almost 100 pics in some days; some of these are really not bad.

As my PC really went out of order in the second half of the month I didn't have time for much more.

I had a lot of fun discovering this block war game in the past month, and studying some of the historical background behind the theme, and sharing all of that and more in a review. It's a great introductory block war game that has stood the test of time, with a strong historical theme and flavour, elegance of gameplay, fog of war and bluffing, lots of fun, and playable in under an hour. Think Stratego but with theme and chrome. While it may lack some of the replayability of the more recent and more complicated block war games, it has the advantage of offering a much more accessible game that is still of a high calibre, and retains a wonderful historical flavour. You would never think it was designed in 1972 (a new edition was just published in 2009), since it holds up very well to more contemporary block war games, and does a superb job in simulating aspects of the historical theme. I enjoyed studying some of the history, playing the game, and writing about it in this extensive pictorial review! All this from someone who definitely does not consider himself a wargamer by any means! I hope the review helps others come to discover and appreciate this gem of a game.

mb So you're wondering about your first ever block war game: a time-tested classic that even eurogamers can enjoy

My two other favourite contributions from the past month are a pictorial session report about my experience with the brand new cooperative fantasy adventure game, and a pictorial review of the sequel to Roma:
mb The adventures of a man and two children, in their valiant quest to defend the king's city (session report of Defenders of the Realm)
mb A proven two-player game for Dominion fans to discover, appreciate, and embrace! (review of Arena: Roma II)

This is probably my best contribution this month. It almost got a hundred thumbs.

It's a tutorial on how to make folding boards, using some very basic materials and techniques.

I think this was my best contribution this month rules to play Omega Centauri solo.

I've posted a fair bit about my game but one thing missing was solo rules [and when the game finally gets published these rules won't be included, the Publisher wasn't interested in a version for solo play]

I've posted a review of Carson City, my current favorite 'hot' game, to celebrate my new avatar!

It's a lot of fun, great theme, highly strategic and really tense gameplay.
I can't recommend this game enough!!

This session report that I wrote after playing Dixit for the first time. It was a family game of 3-players using the official variant in the rulebook. I wrote this because my 9-year old daughter actually improved during the game. This was an enjoyable gameplay session and experience. She is requesting to play almost every day!!

My husband enjoyed it as well!!!!!

This was one of my only geeklists period and thus the best of this month. It collects some house rules that turn pretty meh games into fantastic gamers games. The best example that I have stumbled on so far is a cooperative version of Tsuro.

Our game design finally reached a point of finality deserving of a BGG database listing!

I sent out 2 prototypes for blind playtest by a few geek users.
And now we wait... ... ... (the hardest part yet...)

I just started playing on BrettSpielWelt but have been unhappy with some of the player interaction. I'd love to play with BGGers and so launched this list to start some way into that process.

This feels much too like self-promotion for my taste... but if only for some practice with inline images, here goes:

My photomosaic of the BGG logo using box covers was a surprise hit (to me anyway). I soon discovered that this wasn't an entirely new idea:

So, I had to go a bit further, for hard-to-impress-BGGers and made a clickable photomosaic. Unfortunately the final version, with linked pop-up box covers, didn't get much attention, maybe because I didn't get it working until the end of my moment in the sun, or maybe because it's not just outside the scope, but, ahem, outside the site. For anyone interested, it's here:

http://southosullivan.com/bgg_cornerlogo_imagemap.html

Almost all of the top 2000 games (c. June 2010!) are in the image, and no box cover appears more than once. It's hosted off-site because of the javascript for the pop-ups. Clicking on a pop-up takes you to the image in the game's BGG gallery.

I also made a BGG logo out of tileable meeple shapes,
What can I say? I didn't get much else done that week...
