I have to admit, this is not a PNP!

However it is not available in Germany, so I created a winter themed variant for personal use.

After uploading all the cards to Artscow and ordering the 4 decks, I should be able to build the rest this month, unless real life or LARP gets in the way.

After trying some of the other games by this publisher and being disappointed, this one has never really caught my attention.
A recent search for solo Wargames however has put it to the top of my PnP list. I purchased the files a couple of days ago and although the artwork is not as slick as it could be, the gameplay looks like it will be excellent!
Today I will be printing the components . . . (I wonder how long it will take to complete???)

The expansions will probably follow . . .

This will be my first deck ordered from Artscow.

I am currently re-theming the game to a Team Fortress 2 style with characters from the game.

Quick photoshop work for an example card (subject to change):

Recently I've gotten interested in the 18xx genre and it began with a PnP version of 18AL.

As it was the first PnP I've done since I was in university (and interested in game design) and the first 18xx game I'd ever play, I cut some corners. I figured I could go back and "pimp" it up if I liked the game. And I did...but I haven't gone back to upgrade some of the cards yet. I got distracted pimping up my copy of 1825 Unit 1 instead. That done, I've moved on to 1886. Should finish it up tomorrow (Canada Day) if I can free up enough time to cut and mount the cards.

I can't wait till this game is done, so I can play it. I'm jonesing for a Dungeon Crawl.

I had do do a bit of work in GIMP, making counters and editing the images to be the right size.

Oh, did I mention I am making it magnetic? First time to try this. I've got all the pieces made and I am very happy. The character counters are 3/4 in. and I happened to find 3/4 in circle magnets at Hobby Lobby. While I was there I picked up a role of the 1 in. adhesive backed magnet strip - this worked out great for all the other counters.

I am having a bit of trouble with the board. I picked up a thin sheet of punch metal. I'm having a hard time cutting it to fit the board. But I'm pretty sure it will work out.

After Spacebooters, I'm having some more designing fun, with a small tile laying game for which I have no name yet. I built it two days ago and we had four games yesterday. So far, it seems to work fine, at least with two players.

edit: changed from "Unpublished Prototype" to the game entry

Decided to make up a quick version of Michael Bevilacqua's Deity. First I designed new tiles with my own skull and tower and then printed it up on printer label paper. I then attached it to old comic book boards and made a quick rule guide with the leftover. I ended up with two sets and two rule cards thanks to a first printing error what do you mean they're not hexagons!.

I think it turned out nicely.

Built the Iowa map and cards for Ticket to Ride:

Map was laser printed on 65lb linen coverstock, mounted to illustration board and coated with a couple coats of clear spray.

The cards were printed on 24lb linen paper, front & back on separate sheets, then glued together and cut apart.

I used some white ribbon I purchased at the craft store for hinges to allow the board to fold up.

This was a good project to test some thoughts on board building and try out the linen paper cards. All told, this took about six hours to build and cost around $12. I'm happy with the results, but wish the resolution of the map and card files was a bit higher than 72dpi.

I've had this on my wishlist forever, so when I heard the designer was giving out play test kits, I asked for one. I'm printing this up for Friday when my brother comes to visit. He's my goto guy when it comes to trying out new games like this. Unlike my husband he'll try out a game even if it's not all polished up. This version doesn't have any graphics to speak of but the gameplay is still there. From just reading the rules this looks like it will stay on my wishlist just waiting for the elusive published version although actually playing it might change things. We'll start with the short game then try the long one as the designer suggested. By the way for anyone thinking about this if you want to print out the full game (you don't have to) it's 54 pages of mostly black & white.

Oops, I discovered as I was putting this together that I needed to print multiple copies of the map bits. That brings the total pages to 62 pages. The map sectors are in color.

Having built Hornet Leader II earlier this month, I decided to purchase this expansion.
I haven't exhausted the previous game by any means (I still have two campaigns to try and I haven't experienced all the target cards yet) but I think this expansion will add something extra to the base game as well as the two new campaigns.

The easiest PnP game I have made so far. Solo Tower Hack is, to me, well worth the print. The 3-page B&W pdf gives you everything you need to play six sessions. All you need are is a six-sided die (I like to use two) and a pencil with eraser.

The game is fun.

I also went ahead and printed out Solo Tower Hack's forerunner, Solo Dungeon Bash. It's a little meatier (it includes a shop for purchasing upgrades) but runs on a similar mechanic.

I actually printed this out and played it when Dirkgent001 first posted the updated artwork. It was a good postcard game but not as good as Malaya: V-Mail Postcard Game #1 or Unternehmung 25: V-Mail Postcard Game #2 in my opinion.

When it appeared in the Print and Play: What Should I Build Next? I revisited the downloads and discovered a block game version is available.
So I have printed everything and started cutting out the blocks.

I will keep you updated with my progress!!

I've decided to finally make myself one of these. As I like color I'm designing my own set. If I was making a wood set I'd just use the simpler designs as I think wood is better when it's simpler. I don't have a nice engraver so I'd have to print this out on transparent full sheet label & stick it to the wood.

I've decided to either go the cardboard route or if I can afford it colored plexiglass. I think it will have to be cardboard as I'm sure I can't afford plexiglass, sigh. I was thinking a lovely green plexi would look great with the set I'm working on.

So far I've got the regular set worked out, next will be the seasons set. Ive been thinking about the pyramids, might make these from plastic but will most likely be cardboard as well.

I have to admit, this is not a PNP!

However it is long OOP, so I created a copy for personal use. Instead of using cards, I'm using poker dice.

I made some sets of these for goodie bag treats for my youngest's birthday. They were very well received! I used 3/4 inch blocks from Hobby Lobby. I haven't been in one in a few years, it was completely overwhelming.

The set I made with the alphabet blocks gets played with a lot, so I might get some 1 inch cubes.

I got an extra bag of 3/4 in cubes so we can make a more "deluxe" version of Chunky Fighters.
