I'm merely keeping the seat warm.

Taking part is easy:

1) Add the game of the miniature you painted as an item to the list.

2) Add the picture of your painted miniature in the comment section for that game.

(use the format [imageid=xxxxxmedium] where xxxxx is the id of the picture)

That way people will be able to better judge your work. Medium should be sufficient please do not use large.

Rules:

1) The image you submit must have been uploaded during June 2010. The contest will end on July 31st.

2) You are the artist. Do not submit miniatures painted by someone else.

3) One entry per person. You may, however, use up to two pictures of your entry to the front and back of the miniature.

4) The winner will be the picture with the most thumbs. You can thumb as many as you like.

5) If you can; include the make of the mini, scale and what paints you used in your entry.

Prizes:

Unfortunateley I'm reliant on tips to offer decent prizes at the moment as I don't have a huge amount of geekgold.

Any tips received will awarded as follows:

1st place: 50%
2nd place: 37.5%
3rd place: 12.5%

So if the tip total comes to 40 geekgold 1st will get 20, 2nd 15 and 3rd 5 etc.

I'll round down tips and put the remainder towards future prizes.

Judging at the end of the month and winners will appear in the next months list.

1st place will now also receive an exclusive microbadge! mb

Please give this geeklist a thumb to help get it to the front page. The more contestants the better!

And don't forget to click on the images you like and give the actual images thumbs up as well!

The images will be arranged alphabetically by the name of the game entry.

for making us aware of this.

Previous contests for your viewing pleasure:
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/51364/golden-turtlebac...

Attention anyone feeling too daunted to enter!
We now have on offer for entries finishing outside of the top three so enter even if you think you don't stand a chance of winning. This will be awarded at my discretion and perhaps even split amongst several entries.

Our more experienced painters will be able to offer advice and several people have already said they've learnt something simply by seeing their work next to work they consider to be of a higher standard.
So please enter anyway, you've really got nothing to lose.

I humbly submit the toy soldiers I painted to use with Terence Wise's rules.

These 42mm toy style figures are by Irregular Miniatures, and I painted them in a toy style for the French & Indian War.

I've actually got one to enter this month.

It was painted a few years ago and recently touched up. Not sure of the scale (standard GW) and painted with a mixture of Citadel and Vallejo paints.

They explained everything in detail and at great length. After they finished I sat, despondent, contemplating a bleak and empty future. "I’m glad you’re depressed" said one. "It means you’ve understood the situation.”

I have finally finished my first Copplestone Murmillo:

A very good miniature to paint.

I tried to match the shield design to wall paintingings in Pompeii, rather than use a 'legionary' style design.

Paints used were Foundry, Vellajo and P3.

A chainsaw comes handy to shave these ladys' legs

I painted the 3 Vagarys (lady spiders) last week. The marine and trites (spiders à la "The Thing") are earlier jobs, so they don't count as an entry.

To put you at rest, it's the last Doom pic I'll ever post here : the Vagarys mark the end of my Doom + expansion painting project (at last!).

They were quick to paint, since the color scheme is pretty simple.

Scale : approx 28mm (marine size, so the vagarys are about 50mm tall)
Paints used : Humbrol (basecoat, varnish), Vallejo (everything else).

Note : I used "dual basecoat" (i.e. black on dark parts and white on light parts), I found it very effective for large minis such as these.
EDIT : zoomed pic

The dwarf from Drakon. I do not know the exact scale, but it is smaller than a GW average miniature. I would say 3/4 the size of a blood bowl Ork.

The minis are 28mm from Wargames illustrated when you renew your subscription. The stable is a ForgeWorld production. Paints are mostly GW with a varnish "dip" from The Army Painter.

... just painted these up in June 2010. Navwar 1/3000 minis (ie about 3/4 inch x 1/2 inch!). They came out surprising well considering the age of the models, moulds, etc.

Another offering from our Descent painting project: The Master Dragon!
Master Dragon

Master Dragon vs. normal, including sculpey treasure chest and gold

Master Dragon vs. Red Scorpion (affectionately known in our house as "booberella"... you know, because bikinis and thigh-highs are very practical in dark, dank dungeons)

The dragon is about 2.5" tall... I'll have to measure it later.
