I went to Clint's home late in the evening. We played a couple of 2 player games. He suggested that I write it up for the BoardGamers of Michiana guild. Here tis.

We played the 2 player version. It scales the game very well.

Michael jumped out to an early lead delivering as much and as often as possible. The goal was to put pressure on Clint and to prevent him from accumulating money with sales.

Clint was patient and accumulated money. He was able to buy one of the large buildings and I was not. That was the difference in the game.

Clint 38
Michael 25

We really put it to each other in our role selections. This game can be brutal for sure. I made a tactical error and it hurt, but Clint would have won no matter what.

This one scales well also. While it is very brutal with 4, it is equally vicious with 2 or 3. There are adjustments for the rules in the 2 player game.

This game is a kind of worker placement. The ultimate goal is to collect VPs. A budget must be planned and it determines turn order. Actions must be purchased, though some of them are shared by the other players. Funds are collected and ultimately VPs are collected. Music is bought and sold. Opera halls are built. Composers gain and lose popularity. There is ample opportunity for screwage.

This was a tense and close game. Clint came from behind very well to tie it up at the end. We both scored 118 points.

However there is a tie breaker and Michael won it by having 1 budget left while Clint had none.

I think this is the first game I have ever won against him!
