This list is to add games you would love to receive in the Official Thrifty Secret Santa Thread

To register, mouse-over Misc in the header and select GeekExchange Find and click "Thrify Secret Santa."

The Rules - (Per the Official Thrifty Secret Santa Thread)
1. TO ENTER, Sign up here! You must be a member of The Ancient and Loyal Order of Thrifters to participate.

2. The cutoff is Wednesday, November 3rd. Sign up before that date!

3. When registering, it is a good idea to offer suggestions for commonly thrifted items you desire. Of course, your wishlist will be fair game as well.

4. The games you send to your target should be USED. This means they were either thrifted (preferable) or are no longer welcome in your game collection. Thrifting is about recycling!

5. Generosity guidelines: It is not like Santa to restrict how generous someone should be. However, we also don't want any little Scrooges sending out a single copy of Uno. As a rule of thumb, try to have the value of your gift package be about $20. If that means you spent 40 games for $.50 at a garage sale, fine. If that means the one game you send is currently selling for that, fine. The choice is yours, but be reasonable. Ask yourself: "What would Thrifty Santa do?"

When you join, please provide the following details:

4-6 games that you are currently enjoying (and a why you like them if you like),

4-6 you have seen more than once on the thrift lists you want -
the first game you are interested in should be the Geeklist entry item
to catch people's attention,

4 things you like in games. (mechanics, themes, if you play games with kids or your family.)

This can be used to help guide people to select what they add into the box for you.

4-6 games that you are currently enjoying -

Acquire - After finding 2 copies at a Thrift, I decided to give this a shot. AWESOME! We played this probably 5 times in just 2 days.
Scotland Yard - I've loved this game since I was a kid, simple, yet strategic and fun. Doesn't get any better.
Dominion - Really didn't think I would like this, it being a card game and all....addictive and fun!
Dungeons & Dragons: Castle Ravenloft Board Game - This is a blast to play and everything I thought it would be.
DungeonQuest (third edition) - A game that is brutal, yet fun and makes me want more..played numerous times and I still would love to see it hit the table more.

4-6 you have seen more than once on the thrift lists you want -

Battleground: Crossbows & Catapults War Chest Starter Set - I've seen this many times, seriously drool. I played Crossbows and Catapults as a kid with my dad. Talk about hours of fun!
Heroscape Master Set: Rise of the Valkyrie - Needed for some massive Heroscaping!
Ikusa - Seen this quite a few times, looks like my kind of thing.
Dragonmaster - I just love the art on this.
Acquire - Looking for 2008 edition or any newer edition.

4 things you like in games. (mechanics, themes, if you play games with kids or your family.) -
I love dungeon hack games, Ameritrash and some Euros. My wishlist is also updated with commonly thrifted games that I think I would enjoy. We mainly play 2p games, so those would be preferred over 3p+. I'm really not into card games or abstracts, but LOVE card driven war games. Also any specialty games like Disney Theme Park tin editions.

Parts I collect odd/unique dice from various games/game stores. I'm trying to find figures to customize for a homemade version of Dune. So far, using Risk figures isn't working, too small. Jenga blocks or any wood blocks or Scrabble tiles for my dice tower/tray projects.

Also, not game related at all but I collect odd Martini glass sets and Hard Rock Cafe Hurricane & shot glasses from various cities. I find these pretty often at thrifts and I don't mind doubles.

Games I'm currently Enjoying:
Saint Petersburg - simple, but with a fair amount of depth
Heimlich & Co. - old or new, Kramer is the man.
For Sale - Simple but awesome.
Can't Stop - one of the best push-your-luck games

Things I see thrifted that I'd love to find .... or receive:
Survive: Escape from Atlantis! - This one gets found every week it seems.
Wildlife Adventure or its reimplementation Expedition - Kramer.
That's Life! - More Kramer.
Daytona 500 - Seeing a pattern? (Kramer)
Formula D - not the game, but other tracks.
Tycoon - Wolfgang.
Dune - I can dream, can't I?

Things I like in games (info to help if none of the above are available):
- Simple rules, deep gameplay
- Hoooowwllll! Kramer. Midnight Party or Heimlich & Co, if none of the above are available would be welcome as well and I see these on the lists quite often.
- Dexterity Games (Bottle Topps or Bausack or similar would be welcome)

EDIT: Also, my Want to Play and Want in Trade lists are very long in case that helps.

FYI: I will be editing this later, but wanted to at least get something started.

As a dad of 4 (almost 5) kids, my gaming mostly happens at home with them and my wife. Kids are aged 2, 5, 7, 10, and the only boy is the 5 year old.

Games we like with the 10yo include Dominion, Carcassone, Drakon, Guillotine, Metro, Heroscape.

To include the 7yo, we've played a lot of Apples to Apples and Kinderbunnies.

To include the 5yo as well, Sorry Sliders, Doodle Dice, Chicken Cha Cha Cha as well as many of the Gamewright games.

The key to most of these are that the games need to be able to complete in a fairly short time period (1 hour or so), involve our kids, and also not make us as adults brain dead.

That isn't to say that I don't like playing games with just my wife. We like various games, though my wife doesn't get into deep strategy games.

EDIT: Dear Secret Santa. I'm currently working on filling in my "Owned" games list and I hope to finish this weekend. I will also try to fill in some more items to my wish/want lists. Thank you.

EDIT: Changed my geeklist item entry since I managed to thrift Kids of Catan today... I really hope this doesn't make me bad in Santa's eyes...

4-6 games that you are currently enjoying -

Fury of Dracula (second edition)
For some reason I love deduction games where one or more people get to be invisible. Clue: The Great Museum Caper, Scotland Yard, and Fury of Dracula are all treasured games in my collection and make me very, very happy.

For Sale
Won this in a math trade recently and we play it constantly. I'm always on the lookout for fun, quick, and intelligent fillers that can accommodate a bunch of people.

Last Night on Earth: The Zombie Game
Can never say no to a good Ameritrash game, especially if it has zombies! Moving plastic minis around and rolling loads of dice just helps me scratch that itch sometimes.

Pandemic
My wife and I game a lot together and games with co-operative elements are perfect for us. We pull this one out quite a bit when it's just the two of us.

4-6 you have seen more than once on the thrift lists you want -

Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective: The Thames Murders & Other Cases
This is my grail. If you give me this, I will tattoo your name across the body part of your choosing. That's how bad I want this!

Lord of the Rings

This one pops up all the time but I have yet to find a copy! I know it would be the perfect game to play with the wife, co-op mechanic and pretty bits and all that.

Acquire - 3M Bookshelf Edition
Ok, I'd actually like any of the 3M Bookshelf games! I've been secretly coveting them but have yet to see even a single one. cry Would any generous soul would love to donate the very first game to my (hopefully) future collection? Gotta be an extra Twixt lying around somewhere!

Quoridor
I have Quarto and love the pretty wooden bits and the simple, quick gameplay. Quarto! is the only Gigamic game I own, so I'd love any of the other Gigamic games that are out there!

Survive: Escape from Atlantis!
We can add a longshot, can't we? This would be amazing to have. 'Nuff said.

Miscellaneous Game Accessory
Following gregarius' lead, I would love some of the Clue minis to pimp my copy of Museum Caper. Would make the game that much more fun!

My wishlist is loaded with other games that are often thrifted, so if none of these are viable options, be sure to check zee list!

4 things you like in games. (mechanics, themes, if you play games with kids or your family.) -

As previously mentioned, I love games with a deductive element to them. I also love quick, fun fillers and am always looking to add some new ones to the weekly game night rotation. Strong 2 player games are a big plus since I often play with my wife. I also love gaming with my kids, especially if the games don't make me wish for a quick lobotomy.

4-6 games I am playing now
1. Stone Age - perfect match of mechanics and theme
2. Ascension: Godslayer - fast paced good card game
3. St. Petersburg - great card game shame about the themeing
4. Jungle Speed - what a riot!
5. Roma - fave 2 player game at the moment

What can I say I like dice and cards - WHEN THEY WORK WELL!

Games I have seen thrifted that I would want
1. Kingsburg - who wouldn't want a top game find at a thrift store
2. Any euro would be good
3. Daytona 500

Mechanics/types of game I like
1. Ones that scale well from 2 to 4 as I play with my wife and regular gaming friends
2. Mid-weight games - something that my wife can play with out killing her brain
3. Although I like dice and cards they have to fit within the theme or the mechanic has to work - luck is ok but not too much!

Edit: I'll try to update this next week, but for right now I have my hands full being Santa's Chief Elf.

I have way too many games already, I know it. Not only am I unable to find enough time to play them as often as I'd like, but I'm long past running out of room to keep them. But here I am anyway, asking for more. It's a quandary!

4-6 games that you are currently enjoying -
Innovation - It's quick, simple, deep, and endlessly variable. Best of all, my wife *loves* it! (It's difficult to convince her to play games with me, even though she almost always enjoys it when she does. This was only the second game she ever requested out of the blue!)

Through the Ages: A Story of Civilization - A friend recently introduced me to a website that offers this play-by-email, which is almost ideal. A great game that's too long to get to the table often, but plays fantastically online.

Space Hulk: Death Angel – The Card Game - One reason I don't get to play games as ofen as I'd like is not having convenient or reliable opponents. My wife would never touch Space Hulk I'm sure. In the meantime, I have this interesting little solo game to tide me over. Much more fun than I thought it would be.
Edit: I've also recently acquired Field Commander: Alexander which I'm enjoying. I'm a big fan of ancient history, and I enjoy recreating his campaigns solo.

Hansa Teutonica - Ah, Euro cube-pushing! A pretty deep game that offers good variety and many paths to victory. I'm always up for something heavy (T&E, Caylus, Reef Encounter, Brass), but rarely get the opportunity. This one has been hitting the table lately, and I like it.

4-6 you have seen more than once on the thrift lists you want -
Quandary - My desire for this game is as out of proportion as the bits are over-produced for the game. It's just Loco, a game I already have and enjoy. It takes about 5 minutes to explain *and* play a game. Why do I want this so badly? I DON'T KNOW!

Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective: The Thames Murders & Other Cases - I was reminded of this one by derrickec's entry above. I like Sherlock Holmes, I like *some* deduction games, but am most intrigued by the idea of solo play.

The Omega Virus - This one just looks fun and cool. I found a severely depleted copy of the game, so I guess all I really need is everything but the board and box.

Hang in There! - I've thrifted this twice, and neither one of them worked! Goofy fun that I'd like to bring out every once in a while.

Edit: Other thrifty games I'd enjoy:
--Gigamic wooden abstracts
--Expansions for HeroScape (figures & cards, not necessarily land)
--Anything "Express" (mostly for re-purposing)
--Bazaar
--Mutant Chronicles: Siege of the Citadel

Miscellaneous Game Accessory - Little plastic painted minis! I made my own copy of Kwanchai's Slapshot redesign (files here), and I love having a ton of random minis for players to use as player tokens. I was originally going to pick up pewter pieces from the various Monopoly clones, but after seeing the plastic painted guys, I couldn't go back.
I already have the Clue: DVD guys:

But I would love to have any or all of these:

I've seen pictures of the Scooby Doo gang, the Wizard of Oz travelers, and the members of the Fellowship of the Ring, but I don't know what games they came from. Any of these would be fantastic! Of course, Epic Duels figures would be awesome too, but I doubt anyone would want to break that up.
Edit: I may have opened a can of worms with this "painted minis" request, but I'll stick to it. As I mentioned below, I don't really consider myself a collector. However, the more (and more diverse) the merrier. I know there are X-Men and Transformer figures from some games. But I'd prefer for them to be on a base, i.e. clearly movers and not just little toys. I'm really undecided about the Trivial Pursuit special edition figures. Although I'm often tempted by the cheap SNL DVD Trivial Pursuit figures, they have that higher pedestal to accommodate the pie pieces. Would that matter? Probably not, but they just wouldn't be consistent with the other figures.

As far as other parts go, I do have several games that are missing pieces (most notably Risk:LotR and Hotels), but I haven't posted those needs yet. Maybe while I'm being good I'll do that too.

4 things you like in games. (mechanics, themes, if you play games with kids or your family.) -
I like just about everything. I like heavier games, but rarely get to play them. I love abstracts, and the prettier the better (especially wooden). I don't have any little genetic experiments running around yet, so kids' games aren't a big priority (except the ones listed above, for the kid in me).
Edit: Yes, I like just about everything. But more importantly, I really love surprises. Feel free to put whatever random crap you want in my package, Santa, and I promise I'll be overjoyed. I'm not really in this for personal gain. I'm here to share in the camaraderie and community of BGG and Thrifters.

Okay, that's a pretty long entry. Thanks for reading!

Ooooh, I just thought of something really cool! This isn't Thrifty at all, but as long as this is my wish list, I'll go ahead and wish. If there is a local microbrewery by the North Pole, I would really love a bottle of beer!

4-6 games currently enjoying:

Pirate's Cove - We have a very coveted newspaper pirate hat that goes to the winner - combines right amount of strategy and theme - but theme is just great for this. Every time we've played it we end up reshuffling and adding cards to make the game longer - we tend to start working on long term strategies that can't come to fruition because of game length.

Small World - A favorite as well like the mechanics, theme. What makes this such a good game for us is that if you are unhappy with your race/power combo you aren't stuck with it an early bad decision is not a game-ender.

Powergrid - Strategy pure strategy - just wonderful.

Wasabi! - Fast quick filler and easy to break new gamers into.

Powerpuff Girls - Saving World Before Bedtime - My daughter loves this, pretty impressive for a "kids" game

Blokus - Strategy with forward thinking that can play with my kids

Games I have seen thrifted that I want:

Lord of the Rings - and of course any expansions
Survive!
Roborally
Tower of the Wizard King - my daughter would love this! and hopefully would take Key to the Kingdom off of her must play list
Stone Age - only saw it thrifted once but would fit in well with me and the folks I game with

Game that I don't expect whatsoever as receiving it would be like winning the lottery without ever buying a ticket but is a grail
- seriously I would trade very fairly for this

Capes and Cowls - 'nuff said

3 things like in games:

Themey Euro's - These seem to go over well with me and my group, Days of Wonder are good examples of games that go over well
Kid games where strategy influences win - Chateau Roquefort, Amazeing Labyrinth have been winners in this department
Cooperative games - I simply don't have any of these for adults thus why LotR is top o' the list

Parts desired:
Dark Tower:
battery cover,
gold warrior pawn,
2 corner protectors,
3 keys, 1 of each
flags all

Formula De Euro Games ed.:
basic and advanced rules,
blue car pawn,
white spoiler,

Munchkin Fantasy:
promo cards.

Games I am currently enjoying:

Taluva - We bought it because it was another tile laying games, that looked like a quick, fun play. The more we play it the more depth we see it has.

Jambo - it's like a complete high end euro with easy set up and pretty good game playing time.

Agricola - never gets old, and with two people it plays in 45 minutes. We always enjoy a game of this.

Glory to Rome - I really love it, even though I haven't at all figured out how to play it correctly.

Games from the thrift lists I have wanted:

Blokus - I know someday I will find it, but I have wanted to have a copy since I first saw it in the store but haven't be able to push myself to pay full price.

Ingenious - I would like to try an abstract like this

Acquire - I think my husband would really like this game and I would like to see how it plays

Apples to apples - I have found it once and took it to my Virgina in-laws. I left it there because the whole family LOVED it. Since then I have wished to have another copy here.

What I like in a game:

We play mostly two player, with occasional four player events. We enjoy Euros that are medium to heavy weight with the two of us, but are on the look out for a few nice light ones to play with newbies. I like the Kosmos line of two players a lot. Prefer low luck games, and not too many dice.

The Underwriter (aka: James MacArthur)

I am currently enjoying the following games:

Axis & Allies Naval Miniatures: War at Sea Its simple and easy to play. The minis are suprisingly accurate. Its fun - a great Beer and Pizza type game.

Ticket to Ride: Märklin Edition I have always had a soft spot for European train engines. (I used to model German HO Steam). Strategy, Placement & Trains Love it!

G.E.V. This was one of my first chit war games. Can I stop the Ogre. An easy game to learn and one you can solo easily.

Renegade Legion: Leviathan If A&A is Beer & Pizza, this one is Wine and a five course meal. Ship management, Fleet Tactics & a whole lot of time needed. Sometimes I think I have more fun making the ships!

Games I would love to get:

Triplanetary

Twilight Imperium

Iron Dargon

Martian Rails

Jutland

I love Sci-Fi based games that expand the mind and cause me to think. I would love to see things like Twilight Imperium, Fifth Froniter War, and The New Ogre. I would also like to try my hand at some of those Railroad Crayon games like Iron Dragon, Lunar Rails or Martian Rails. I love chit based games as well as miniatures (like Centurain or Silent Death) Wargames are also appreciated.

Games we like:
Glory to Rome
Archaeology: the Card Game
At the Gates of Loyang
Agricola
San Juan
Ra: the Dice Game
Roads & Boats

What we like:
Non-confrontational "building up" or exploration games that work with two. Card games. HABA games. Sam doesn't much care for abstracts, so they're not likely to get played, but push your luck games often work.

I would also appreciate pewter minis for my minis cabinet, such as Scooby Doo.

Some examples and ideas, but mainly I like being surprised:

New York Chase, the newer Scotland Yard, Eureka, Oregon, Mr. Jack, Mahjong, Mhing, SET, FITS, Genoa

EDIT: Sam got me Oregon for my birthday.

4-6 games that you are currently enjoying -

Entdecker
Tikal
Bohnanza
Can't Stop
Pandemic
3/Treehouse Pyramids

4-6 you have seen more than once on the thrift lists you want -

3M Regatta
Donkey Kong (because I looked twice)
221B Baker Street
Fluxx and variants
Cosmic Encounter (because I squinted)
Sid Sackson esoteric games & design books.

4 things you like in games. (mechanics, themes, if you play games with kids or your family.) -

We like thematic exploration and euro games and games that play well with 2. Also games lasting more than 2 hours rarely hit the table. Our boys ages 6-12 also play.
I welcome Print and Plays and don't care of box condition or complete parts. I love to organize games with ziplocks, planos and tins (altoids, etc). Tins are nifty.

My Parts list:

A black and orange octagons from the original Entdecker
A Scales from HeroQuest
A Cheese Kabob square from Chateau Roquefort (D'oh! Why didn't I put this on my last Rio Grande parts order...)

Edit Add: Clear plastic VHS (or Nintendo) Boxes, for my VHS Box Bookshelf collection. VHS Tape Case Packable Games

Thanks,

Games I'm currently enjoying:

Dominion - very replayable fun game
Rummikub - been playing this on the iPad a lot lately - fun, light, good for family get togethers
Roll Through the Ages: The Bronze Age - I've recently decided I really like dicey games
Cyclades - CRASH! "You got your war game in my euro" "No you got your euro in my war game"

4-6 you have seen more than once on the thrift lists you want :

Battleball
Survive: Escape from Atlantis! - probably getting the reprint but the original would be great
Scotland Yard
Star Wars: The Queen's Gambit - well I've seen it on the lists more than once...
Catan - actually looking for 90% of the parts to go with a 3d one I have so it would be easier to just find the whole game (need everything but the tiles)
Risk: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy Edition - or any interesting Risk I don't have
Star Wars: Epic Duels - well everyone else listed it - why not

I keep my wishlist pretty active and I'm up for pretty much anything - surprises are fine and welcomed!

Things I like in games:
Euro-style
machine building
I'm not a fan of heavier war games (but M44 level stuff is fine)
Dice
Wood/fancy components
2 player and solo options are a plus

Parts:
Need a real set of rules to Risk: Star Wars – The Clone Wars Edition, Heroscape terrain, Catan stuff as mentioned above, any sort of Scooby Doo Minis to use with Betrayal at the House on the Hill, Master Labyrinth wands and I'm sure a few other things I can't think of now.

Kids games would be great instead as well - I have a 4 year old son who is autistic who recently has taken a shine to a few games I've thrifted recently - Boggle Jr, Uno Moo and Barnyard Bingo . Anything along those lines or most simpler Haba style games would be fair game. He is a fan of letters, spelling, numbers and matching

Okay...so I'm not good at following directions, but here's a little something to help you out.

I tend towards Euros, but like Ameritrash too...I have a soft spot for Dungeon-, Space-, &/or Fantasy-themed games

I tend to prefer games that:
1 Allow randomness to increase replayability while minimizing it's impact on determining the victor("well-thought out" play should be rewarded).
2 Play well with 2 players (since many of my gaming sessions are with my darling wife), yet scale well to additional players
3 Have multiple paths to victory, (the more the merrier) and...
4 Have a relatively short duration (~1hr or less...because it's hard to regularly commit multi-hour blocks of time to gaming nowadays with a young family). This is not a requirement however

Games I am currently enjoying:
(for the reasons listed above)
Race for the Galaxy
Agricola
Through the Desert
Bandu
Forbidden Island

Games I'd love to see in my stocking...
Dungeon, Classic Dungeon or New Dungeon (all versions of the same game)or some other dungeoncrawl-type game (Dungeoneer, etc..)
Betrayal at House on the Hill
Sorry Sliders
Mystery Mansion (preferably the non-electronic version)
Quoridor
Any of the Carcassone Expansions
or some other game that fits some of the above-listed criteria.

As for Bits that I like
Wooden bits, plastic chips, baggies or small containers for organizing stuff, dice, figures...just about anything that could assist in the game pimping process. Thx

Santa,
I have been a good minion for the Thrift Redistribution Plan and when not out saving games I play a few. Here’s what I have enjoyed over the past year:

Power Grid
Traders of Osaka
Poker
Crokinole
Chinatown

Some thrift items I see here frequently which I'd very much like to have are:
Can't Stop
Feudal
Pathfinder
Careers /edit -2nd edition (1965) or earlier. I have the 3rd(1971) edition.
Beat the Buzzard
Tycoon
Cathedral /edit -forgot about this one!

The things I look for in a game:
Well designed pieces and parts, well written rules, parts with multiple uses, things in small packages, card games, awesome bits, auction games, euro games, well balanced games, some press your luck games (like poker), area control games, no player elimination, and games that can be played solitaire. I LOVE score tracks!

/edit -check my parts list -I'd love to get any missing parts!

Have a merry and a happy!!
Kilgore

Sigh, was typing and BGG went down....

Citizens rejoice! It is time for Thrifty Santa to come visit all the good Citizens of the world; he'll skip the TSIS and Royal Insurgency though... Only loyal Citizens will get any goodies!

Your First Citizen is proud to join in on the tradition once again!

Currently I am enjoying the following games (mostly with my boy and his friends):

Survive!
Carcassonne (he's starting to get the hang of this)
Hive (and this one too)
Big Boggle
Pit
Agricola (OK, this is a bit beyond him for a few years)
Arkadia (one more that is above my son's head)

Games I've seen on the list that I would love:

Square Mile
Summit
Octi
Wildlife Adventure
Heroscape - particularly Thaelak's Tundra or the Ticalla Jungle expansions
Monsterpocalypse (Series 1-3; I'm not interested in the latter series)

What I enjoy in games:

Mechanics: Worker placement, Area Control/Influence, Pick-up & Delivery, Role Selection

Designers I enjoy: Kramer, Angiolino, Wrede, Wallace, Knizia, Bone, Seyfarth

4-6 games that you are currently enjoying (and a why you like them if you like),
Puerto Rico
Dominion
Nexus Ops
Small World

I don't get to play as much as I'd like, so when I do it's with old friends and we spend as much time catching up as playing. As such, we tend to play top 100 games that are fairly fairly easy to teach, learn and play, and games that tend to take an hour or so (we can then play several over the evening). We do like games that are a little different each time so rematches contain a good amount of trash talk.

4-6 you have seen more than once on the thrift lists you want -
the first game you are interested in should be the Geeklist entry item
to catch people's attention,

Epic Duels-I've been searching for one of these for my brother, and have never gotten lucky.
Blockus-I like Trigon and Rumis/Bolckus 3d, so I think I would like the original or the duel versions too.
Heroscape-I love the terrain pieces
Clue-The Great Museum Caper-I thought this looked more interesting then
the original.
Battlestar Galactica-I know it's my long shot of the list. I love the show but missed the 75% off sale at B&N.

4 things you like in games. (mechanics, themes, if you play games with kids or your family.)

With my group in mind, the best thing is simplicity. We like games that don't need someone who has played before, and can be learned and played in 90 minutes or so. Euro gate-way games would be well played.

Personally, I"m a sucker for theme, especially sci-fi and fantasy. I don't mind dice, but prefer hand-management or strategic battle systems.

Thank you very much to the organizer of this Secret Santa, and thank you to everyone for their generosity.

Games I am currently enjoying
Java
Streetcar
The Climbers
Mr. Jack

Thrift games I am interested in
I have alot of the common thrifted games so am hoping either for a less common one I haven't been able to find or a nice surprise

Ones I am looking for include:
The Powerpuff Girls: Villains at Large Game
Visionary (there are two games with this name, I am looking for the one with wooden blocks)
Kaleides
Prickly Pile-Up
Think-It Link-It
Beyond Solitaire(even a xerox of the six games and their rules would be great)
The Amazing Dr. Nim
Dragonmaster
Quirks pretty unlikely I would imagine
Heroscape Expansion Set: Zanafor's Discovery - dreaming here, but a squad or two of the elven archers from this expansion

Parts
- I am missing 3 puzzle pieces from Situation 4
- little plastic painted minifigs for player pawns,
- little plastic or wood buildings
- very little plastic toys for props for zombie games benches, trees, gravestones, etc. My zombies are from the bag of zombies sold in game stores.
- pieces from the more unusal heroscape terrrin sets lava, jungle, trees. tundra
- player and aliens pawns from the Aliens game or suitable plastic aliens and people. (they don't have to be from the movie, just any kind of little people and little alien figures)

Types of games I like include:
Ones with "visual thinking" required like tile placement, 3-d games, or pattern recognition games.
Games with science themes

I dislike auction, bidding, bluffing, spelling, and press your luck games.

As for non-game thrift finds I like non-plastic bead necklaces that can be taken apart (I make jewelery). Interested in interesting glass, brass, copper, ceramic, silver, stone, esp. semi precious gemstone beads if they can be found cheap.

Combat Commander

Founding Fathers
Paris Connection
The Princes of Florence

Games I have seen more than once that I think I would like -
1830: Railways & Robber Barons
Rail Baron
The Omega Virus - human scum that I am!
Risk - wood cubes!!!

Things I like in games -

I am definitely a fan of CDGs and war games. I also like games that can be played solo as it is difficult to get the family to play games. I like 18XX and rail games (including Power Grid) and their mechanics, but not "train" games (like Ticket to Ride). I do not like games like Catan or Carcassone.

I also seem to collect dice, some unusual, some ordinary. I have some that look like bones, some that have skulls, wooden dice, little teeny tiny micro dice, dice of all shapes and sizes and colors.

Games I'm playing right now:

Heroscape Master Set: Rise of the Valkyrie Cool figures and powers, love the flexibility in building your own terrain for scenarios.

Ticket to Ride: Nordic Countries I'm slowly introducing the Ticket to Ride series to my friends. Love plotting and strategizing our routes.

Arkham Horror My perennial favorite. Lots of theme and cooperative.

Roll Through the Ages: The Bronze Age And you can't go wrong with a strategic dice game.

Games I'd like that I've seen thrifted:

The Ark of the Covenant This is the one that eludes me! I love Carcassonne (as long as I'm not playing with someone with AP), and my daughter can play it with me too. Why can't I find this great variant?

Crokinole I enjoyed when I played it at the game store. I know my kids would love the flicking. This is at the top of my list for "flicking" games.

Maya Madness Love the Central American theme. Looks like a good game to play with my daughter. Also in this category is Honor of the Samurai. Or really, any of the better rated Gamewrights that we don't already own.

Escape from the Hidden Castle Looks like fun.

Of course, Heroscape terrain would always be welcome, as well as any euros, or ameri-trash. I'm generally not fond of abstracts.

anything to do with Knights, King Arthur or medieval settings!

Parts
Well I need planes for this Mission Command Air
and I am missing one of the black rings for Keys to the Kingdom

and I am missing a lot of the cards for Transformers Armada
and several of the heroes for X-Men Under Siege
. So being able to complete any of these games would obviously be nice!

So, I'm dreaming here, but it has shown up on the lists before. whistle

4-6 games that I am currently enjoying

Dominion
Talisman (Revised 4th Edition)
Lost Cities though all my plays are online vs the computer
Wings of War: Miniatures this is surprisingly fun, especially with a big table and at least 6 people

4-6 you have seen more than once on the thrift lists you want

Scrabble Deluxe Edition. I have regular Scrabble, but I'd really like one where the tiles don't slide all over the place.
Catan How people find this all the time, I don't know. All I ever seem to see is endless versions of Scene-It and Cranium.
Any Carcassonne game except for the base game.
Dark Tower! Bwahaha! Okay, I kid, I kid. I used to have this, but I am sure my parents ditched it years ago. It was fun at the time, but mostly I remember the sound it made when you got a bad roll (or whatever).

4 things you like in games

Oh, so I get up to six on the others, but only 4 here? Booooo! I shall list more if I want to!
I like fantasy & sci-fi themes, humor, card games, dice games, word games, dungeon crawls, monsters (but not zombies - they're so overdone), euros, ameritrash, robots, pretty colors, shiny things, pot roast, rum, and long walks on the beach.

Not so fond of: war games, sports themes, player vs player screwage, auction mechanics, high conflict. No kids in family anywhere, so kid games that can't scale to a grownup audience are out. I'm also pretty awful at abstracts, which frustrates the people I play against more than it bothers me.

Mostly, I just want to participate, so I'll enjoy anything I get!

Edited to add:

I've been putting more stuff on my wishlist, though I have to admit that I've not been back in gaming long enough to have a great feel for what I like. Santa might want to look at my "want to play" list as well.
