The Complete Kramer
Wolfgang Kramer. Kramer has alone and with others designed some of what I believe to be the greatest games in gaming history. With a record 5 Spiel des Jahres awards and 3 Deutscher Spiele Preis awards the critics seem to agree. And so does the BGG community, as Kramer was the winner of the inaugural Derk Cup awarded to BoardGameGeek's favorite designer in 2010.
Whether it is a heavy gamer's game, a spunky children's game, or something in-between I have yet to be disappointed with a Kramer game. Granted, I haven't played every game on this list, but I hope to change that.
Comment below on your favorite Kramer design or (*gasp*) which ones should actually be avoided.
Note 1: Other Kramer lists exist, but none that are exhaustive.
Note 2: Yes, Kramer has collaborated on many of these games with other designers (notably Kiesling and Ulrich) who also deserve credit. This is in fact why I created the following microbadge:
Note 3: I've restricted this list to ranked games, but if there is a particular unranked game you would like to see on the list, leave a comment.
