Dice are the symbol of luck in games. The question is, which games use dice, but have no luck in there. Or maybe luck so nominal (aka in initial set up, or to change base board conditions) that it is considered luckless? Dice for this need not be normal dice.

Dice as playing piece. Die can move the number of spaces as pips facing up. The die then rolls to that position (not a random tossed roll, but end over end in the direction of the move), changing it's value for it's next move.

Loony game, feel free to delete. The dice are rolled down ramps, and the objective is to get your dice around the race course first. Numbers on the dice are completely irrelevant.

Race game where players use the dice to bid for movement. Player simultaneously select a number, then anyone selecting a number that no-one else selected gets to move, lowest first. So, the dice aren't random, but the psychology element adds a fair amount of randomness anyway.

The dice are used to randomize the initial starting point of the tower every turn. However, given the fact that it possible for every player to negotiate for an action on each of every other player's turns, more than likely it won't take too long before the tower actually goes where you need it to go. It's up to your negotiating prowess to convince other players to go where you need to go. So, really, the actual impact of the "luck" portion of this games is fairly minimal.

So many dice so little luck. The dice are used as population markers for each area you occupy. There may be a spinner involved (my memory is getting sketchy) but the luck is at a minimum. The decisions are left to what you want your population to do: migrate, mate, compete, change genes (DNA not Levi), etc.

A fine and very portable Kris Burm design. At the start of the game, the dice are split between the players and randomised; then the players try too get as many of their dice as possible into the grid. Nice tactics, similar feeling to Quads (another Kris Burm design).

Played on a grid of 15 x 15 squares with 6-sided dice with "normal" numbers as playing pieces.

Each players have 15 of these, placed in the 3rd and 4th row for the start in a fixed position and orientation. Players move one of their dice each turn, as many fields as the number on the top of it, in every direction and the possibility of changing the direction once orthogonally. While moving, the die is tilted with each step on the next side.
If a die is placed adjacent to one or more dice of the opponent, it captures them, if its number is higher than the sum of the opponent`s.

To win the game, you have to capture all your opponents` dice.

"Cephalopod is a dice game that includes no chance. The dice comprise the playing pieces. The goal is to fill a board of various sizes with as many of your dice as possible. This is complicated by a capturing mechanic that keeps the board in constant flux. The game ends when the board has been completely filled. As with most Mark Steere games, draws and ties are not possible in Cephalopod."

I've not played this yet, but it sounds interesting!

This is a trick-taking game. Roll dice to select pool, and then players draft the dice in the middle and play them in a trick-taking game. No luck, and is like Mate in this regard. The game is spawning a number of trick-taking dice games of different sorts, following this same form. Yes, it is a BIT self-serving on my part to list it, because I have worked on it.

This is a game with dice, and the dice are rolled as randomizers, still the randomness is completely decoupled from the success in the game.

There is random, but there is very little luck if any in the game.

The variant "PURITY" removes all uncertainty from the game -- all dice rolled in advance and displayed.
