If Fantasy Flight Games made Diplomacy, each country would come with a set of colored map overlays to represent when you've held a country for long enough to claim it.

If Rio Grande Games made Chaos in the Old World, The Chaos cards would be a standard size, and the units would be represented by various meeples pirated from other games.

If Games Workshop made War of the Ring - the collectors edition would not exist, and you'd only be allowed to field units that you had taken the time to paint.

If Games Workshop had made Puerto Rico, many of us wouldn't have a complete set yet, as the colonists would be miniatures that sold in 5-packs for $49.99 - but they'd be really detailed.shake

If Milton Bradley (the company, not the U.S. baseball player) had made "Chess" it would have dice...somehow. And it would always be made of plastic.

If Splotter Spellen made Dixit you'd be given blank frames and have collect that various elements to create your pictures before you could tell you story. However in between each phase you would fight to keep your elements from decaying and going away before you could get your story told. In the mean time you'd be have to make sure you were delivering elements you didn't use to various points around the board and in effect make them available to the other players. The process would take about 3-4 hours.

If Gamewright made Duck Dealer it would be a 5+ year old game in which you rolled dice to move about the space to different planets and collect various items that you can then turn in to score for things like "Invisible Ducks"...

...so really not much difference.

My favorite designer is Reiner Knizia. My favorite game is Titan. And if Knizia had designed Titan? Um... Colossal Arena?

Strangely, it's a game I'm only reasonably fond of.

If Agricola was made by Parker Brothers, the game board would be square, with fixed action/resource spaces.

Players would roll dice to see what action/resource space they land on.

Players could attempt to monopolize resources, forcing opponents to pay for those controlled resources.
