On here, I am almost ashamed to admit it. But yes, I spent a couple hundred bucks on this baby. It was one of the first "real" games we played with our two eldest and from the time they were 7 and 8 until they were about 11 and 12, we played Monopoly at least once or twice a month. "Don't trade with Dad - no matter how good the deal seems" was the mantre. Normally we play the Deluxe Edition (entry #1).
We break this one out at Christmas and special occasions. Ironically, we just played "real" Monopoly with my soon-to-be 6 year old tonight (his first game). I just was the banker and helped him (i.e. told him when to say "No!" to his sister when she'd offer a trade). He won.
This is, by far the best Monopoly clone I own. Sure the gameplay is identical to all the rest, but these components are amazing! I really like how the property tiles are held in the board until someone buys them, and I love how the raised sides on the board turn the entire board into one big dice tray. Even the houses and hotels click into place so you can't knock them over by jostling the board.
Say what you like about the Phantom Menace as a movie, but they really put some effort into making some good quality games based on that film.
I bought two copies of this version at Toys R Us years ago for $10, except they're in a square tin box (time to add some photos). Finally sold the spare this past week for ~$50, but I'm keeping one for myself.
