There is a lot of talk about good looking bits and parts. so what I want to know, is what games have the worst pieces or bits. They can be considered the worst because they are not very functional, or because they just look UGLY (I mean they have to blind you!). All of the game components don't have to be bad, so just give me the ones that you think stink, be specific. So come on what are your least favorite parts/bits (btw the game can be good, but does not have to be)

I have the Task Force Games Version of this, and instead of nice neat chips, tokens, or counters for the money they have these tissue thin, slick as heck, 5mm*5mm (I think) money counters that are just impossible to manipulate, on top of which you have to be creative in your replacement of them, because there is a lot of onboard manipulation of money. So you can't just replace with chips.

The prospect of staring at manboobs of epic proportions for 45 minutes pretty much ruins whatever game might be there (for me, at least).

Generally a good game with quality components, but those *%"+@!|%^* rockets.

Hands up who owns a set in which the rockets didn't break?

I suppose there is a copy somewhere in the world where the counters were printed on-center. But I have yet to see one. :-)

The original wooden blocks have an attractive simplicity; the current plastic minis look nifty; even the Roman numerals of the '80s had a modicum of style (as well as being the most practical Risk armies yet made). But the "star" army pieces are both ugly and non-functional. Even if I had never heard of Risk before, I could identify these pieces as being from the '70s.

For all intents and purposes the role cards might as well come out of the box marked.

This might be a version-specific issue, but I was shocked at the poor quality of these cards.

Forget about the obvious problems inherent in the idea of actually shooting an opponent with a water pistol during a game....think of what stray water would do to game components.

Our water pistol was reclassified as "cat behavior modification device."

This feels like a CheapAss game with am OutrageousAss price. All the components are paper. The counters need to be cut out with scissors? Come on now. In general I have this issue with most of Steve Jackson's games. Though the Illuminati card quality is excellent and I enjoy the artwork, can we please do away with all of this flimsy paper?

The cards for this game were printed on very thin, highly absorbent cardstock. As a result, you could see the reversed text for each card in the deck.

The money in this game is atrocious. After the first turn you are earning around $600, after the second over $1,000 per turn, and after the third or fourth turn you are over $2,000. One way to win the game is to earn $6,000 per turn. The problem? The denominations of the money are $10, $20, $50, and $100. That's it. And they are all black and white with a very similar pattern, only on cheap, thin paper. Terrible, terrible design choice. At LEAST get rid of the $20 and make it a $500, give us some $1000s, and have different colors and/or easily discernible patterns.

I think that this was a well thought-out game, component-wise. If the side that is face up doesn't matter, it is double sided. If it does matter, they are easy to distinguish from the rest. Makes a potentially long set-up so much easier.

The kids have a halma set costing about 99 cents and consists of a paper board with holes and set of hollow plastic balls in six colors. I mounted the paper to a piece of scrap wood and drilled out the holes, but those plastic balls are a pain to play with at times because (surprise) they roll and are hard to grasp.

This game actually does a pretty fair job of capturing the theme (for a roll-and-move game) but the component quality is laughable! The board is a piece of cheap corrugated cardboard, as are the Bellhop tokens, and the telegrams and conversation cards are wafer-thin. Even the outer box is cheaply rendered!
