This is the companion list to:

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist.php3?action=view&listi...

Here I'm looking to document games in which influencing the most (or most valuable) territories is the winning condition. Alternately, these could be games in which influencing territories earns victory points, and the VPs are what win. Again, I hope my examples are fairly self-explanatory.

Also features a "roping" mechanism which determines the value of each region.

La Citta is not about having the most influence in territories as much as it is building territories that influence other territories. So it's a bit of stretch, but where else would you put it?

While the territories are abstract and end up becoming big compound areas, I think Carolus Magnus fits due to the influence portion of the game. Knights in the territories determine who controls the area -- but control of the Knights is determined by your influence in the Court.

This dynamic can create some huge sweeping changes in just a few short turns as control over the Court changes the entire power balance among the existing territories.

I'm surprised that this hasn't been added yet... In Struggle of Empires points are awarded to the two or three most influential nations present in an area.

Played this game last night and it is a favorite of mine. The whole point of the game is to distribute your civilization tokens to as many territories as possible, scoring victory points for each territory you control at the end of your turn.

This game is about as "territorial influence" as it gets. You score points for a mere presence in an area, more for dominating it, and more still for controlling it completely. In each Epoch, your empire starts in one land and expands its influence to others. Awesome game.

Pretty sure this fits.

Score points for having the largest single herd, or having the most, second most, or third most in any particular region.
