I am starting this thread because some house rules are just that amazing.
This list will be open to public entry and I am sure will inspire the usual arguing that is always there when using words "best" or "worst"...but then that's half the fun of the internet right?

This is why I have the houserule that the Trash is also a player. Well, it's mostly to rub it in someone's face when they do so poorly that they get beaten by the Trash, but if you win the game and still lose to the trash you're also a loser.

Let the Wookie win.

(I couldn't find a Holo Chess image - but was surprised to find a Star Wars game released this year, so used this instead, although I have never played this.)

I thought of this as the original thread that brought up the Dominion rule above was started by sybrwookie

Whenever you introduce a piece for auction, you have to at the very least give it a name, if not describe its influences and the period it came from in the artist's creative history.

Here we have Christin P.'s masterpiece, "Boheelmian Rhapsody in Red and Green" from her desperate period. She has famously refused interviews about the inspiration for this piece, though sources close to her have said it involves a few too many shots and goats on subway cars. All I know is that you'll be amazed at how much you're about to pay for this! Start the bidding!

Had a very similar list from less than a week ago:
House Rule Glory

My item from that list:
In our group there are certain individuals who have a tendency to grab First Player a lot more often than others. As a result, seating order becomes an issue as everyone wants to sit to the left of "Mr always wants to go first". To solve this, we have instituted the turn order mechanic from Caylus. When someone takes Star Player, only their position in the turn order is changed. We use unused house markers from each player color to mark the turn order just off the edge of the play area to keep track.

Standard rule: When a player turns in a set of cards, the player receives 2 additional reinforcements on any territories, depicted on the cards, which that player occupies. Ok, fine. But we took it a step further.

House rule: The player also receives 1 additional reinforcement on any territories, depicted on the cards, which that player does not occupy. In effect, there is an uprising of rebels who are sympathetic to your cause. If they manage to beat whatever armies are there, you get to keep it! It makes the old "put all of your armies on the border, and leave the interior undefended" plan a little less effective.
