Hehe, actually I have made this list just for fun because I have read the interviews with Reiner Knizia where he states that he doesn't have time to play or doesn't want to be influenced by other designers games. Therefore we will have to guess which games he would like and wait 'till that day comes that he gets bored of making games (and monkeys might fly out of my butt :-) to see if we were right...

Feel free to add Reiners favorite game...

It's been described as the 4th game in Knizia's tile-laying trilogy (although it would actually be something like the 6th by now). It's more like Samurai than it is like any other Knizia game, but is even more of a waiting game. That turns some people off Medina. That reminds me, I'm surprised that the standard deviation for ratings of this game is low (currently 1.25), since most people I know seem to have strongish feelings about the game one way or the other.

Assuming Reiner likes something similar to his own design, I think Reibach and Co. could be something he would love to play. Clean design. Short rules. Language independent. Symmetric. (This is actually my favorite Alan Moon's design)

I don't know, if the Doctor would like it, but I know, i designed it with my brother in law inspired by Doctor's "Auf Heller und Pfennig".
And it is for free at: http://www.kronberger-spiele.de/eng/cronberg/cron.html

And naturally he plays it well. (Well, better than me, which doesn't actually take much....)

If I didn't know who the designer on this was, I would have guessed it was a Knizia. Very simple rules, but the scoring makes the game much deeper and more interesting.

Michael Schacht's self-published little gem of an auction game has the marks of a Knizia. I've been very impressed with this tight and clever design.

I don't think I'm the first to say that Stephen Glenn's first published design feels like something that could have come from the mind of Knizia. The only un-Knizia like element is the flipping of the tiles between their low and high sides. Since both players can play onto either side of the tiles, the low and high sides are functionally equivalent.

Both Knizia and Leo Colovini have endured the same criticism of producing games that are "cold," "abstract," or "mechanical." You could probably say that they both take a mathematical approach to game design. Cartagena in particular is an example of the sort of thing that we might expect from Knizia.

Simple, elegant, compact, and well balanced with many possible strategies and interesting tactical decisions. Goldsieber could have fooled me if they had put Knizia's name on the box instead of Moon's and Weissblum's.

I'm sure he would like Dvonn, but if he had invented it I'm sure that he would have thought of a theme including trolls on top of other trolls and named it something in german like Schotten-Trollen.
